It was in a nice location. There were lots of nice trees inside the bungalow with seating arrangement, which was very serene and pleasant. Nice place to relax. Also, the rooms were spacious and clean with large beds. However, there was a condensation leaking problem in skylight in one of the rooms (we had 2 rooms). In the other room, I left a packet (not sealed) of dried mangoes in my backpack. When I came back at night, the packet was full of ants. I had to throw away the whole thing. So just be careful about that. Amenities could have been better and the staff could be more available. I would have given it a 3.5 rating, but since there is no such option, I am giving 3.

A great stay here

I’d been recommended to stay here by my daughter, who had stayed here six months earlier. It’s very central to Tam Coc, just a seven minute walk to all the restaurants etc. I’m pleased I took her advice. I had booked a room for myself, but dorms are available.

The Serene family were just gorgeous. They spoke good English and would help you any way they could. The breakfast was great with lots of choice. My ONE piece of advice would be: if you have a bungalow next to the breakfast area , then ask to be moved somewhere quieter.

Light sleeper

I had noticed upon arrival a chicken coup near the entrance to the bungalows and was reminded of a previous review about this. As a light sleeper perhaps I should have taken it more seriously. Anyway the first two nights were perfect. We had a room which backed onto a mountain and it was surprisingly very quiet. Great I thought. This is perfect. However, we had to move into another nearby bungalow due to a leaking problem with the toilet. I don't know why because this bungalow was only metres away from the first but around 3am I was woken by the cockerels and they crowed endlessly throughout the rest of the night. This also happened the next night also. Need less to say I got very little sleep. However, to be fair my wife was oblivious to this and said she heard nothing. My advice would be if you are a light sleeper bear this in mind and consider you may be woken up during the night. Everything else about this place was very good and I would consider it very good value for money. The location is very good and the surrounding scenery is quite beautiful, right beside the river. Very pleasant experience eating breakfast in the garden while watching the boats go by. The room and bathroom are very spacious and clean and the bed and pillows very comfortable. The staff were also friendly and helpful and organized our transport at an affordable price which all went smoothly. I liked this place despite the early wake up calls.

Wonderful experience at the Serene bungalow

The Serene Bungalow was a perfect place to stay in Tam Coc! Comfortable rooms, hot showers (hard to come by sometimes in Vietnam,) and wonderful service. Breakfast was free and delicious, and we had laundry done while we were there as well. It’s also right on the river, so it’s perfect for lounging if you need a break from sight seeing.

I was really looking forward to staying at a Bungalow as I carefully chose this place. Unfortunately the place was being remodeled and we were sent to a nearby homestay that was cheaper in price. Unfortunately we didn't get the price difference back in refund nor stayed in the type of accommodate we initially chosen for this vacation. Despite this, staff at both places were very kind. Orbitz made it difficult for them to cancel and get me a full refund so I had to come here at the last minute and get sent to another place.

Ok place, great location.

The woman who ran this place was very nice and did laundry for us. However we got the feeling this place isn’t doing that well...almost no one else was staying there and breakfast offering was pretty sparse compared to other homestays we’ve been to. However the scenery was stunning and the location was good, if somewhat hard to find.

Fantastic place

The staff at Tam Coc Serene Bungalow made our stay perfect and hassle-free. Motorcycles/bicycles are available for hire/use, and tours and onward travel can be arranged via the reception. The bungalows are in a nice location on the river with a garden for relaxing, close but not too close to the bars and restaurants on the main street. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was lovely. Would definitely stay again!

This is a fantastic location, great rooms, super helpful friendly service. Food was superb ( we had breakfasts and dinners). The people who run this ( a family I think) were super friendly helpful and great to deal with. Thoroughly recommended !

Cute little Bungalow right by the River.

We had a very good stay at Tam Coc Serene Bungalow. The service was good. They helped us book a transfer to Halong Bay and provided bottles of water for the trip. They had motorbikes we could rent for the day. They have the perfect deck to sit and watch the boats go down the river. The only negatives were the water pressure was not very good in the shower.

Personnel charmant mais

Le personnel était charmant mais ne parlait pas du tout bien anglais. Le petit-déjeuner était très restraint même si c’était bon. Par contre, l’hotel était très joli, les chambres grandes et propres sauf quelques problèmes de fuites au niveau du robinet.
