Our original hotel booking canceled on us due to broken A/C. This was as we had just landed after a grueling 20+ hour flight to HCMC. Scrambling to find a place at 1am, we found The Concept Hotel and it was a haven of peace and gratitude. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful and we wanted to stay longer but they were booked solid for the weekend. We were SO glad to have found this place!
I’d recommend this hotel as a solid base for a 2–3 day city break, especially for solo travellers looking for somewhere comfortable to recharge after a full day exploring Ho Chi Minh City.
The location works well—set on the edge of District 1, it’s within walking distance of key sights like the Independence Palace and War Remnants Museum. If you want to head into the heart of District 1 for restaurants, nightlife, or shopping, it’s an easy 5-minute taxi bike ride. The street itself is quiet in the evenings, which makes it a good spot to unwind after a busy day.
The main trade-off is room size. Rooms are on the smaller side, and not all have windows facing outside. The standard double room in particular would feel quite cramped for two people, with limited space around the bed, desk and wardrobe.
Overall, this is a practical and well-located option for solo travellers who plan to be out most of the day and just need a quiet, convenient place to rest at night.
I was really disappointed here. As I arrived the lobby smelt awful - like almost sewage type smell. No idea what this was.
I was also unimpressed with the condition of the floors.
The room itself was nice and clean, albeit pretty cramped.
There was also a lot of noise during the night on various floors that could be heard from the room.
