"This is a reasonably priced hotel that is clean, perfectly located for what we wanted to do(hit ORV ramps 43/44 & 48/49), w/an easy check in/out procedure & just the right comfortable accommodations for 3-4 people. We used to vacation on the weekly basis w/other families in big houses in OBX, but w/older kids, scheduling has become a nightmare, so we've shifted to multiple weekend trips to OBX instead. It has what you would typically get at any well maintained hotel, nothing fancy, but all the basics. Little dorm room style fridge w/tiny freezer on top, little microwave, coffee maker, &new this year, a dehumidifier. I don't know why they added a dehumidifier, maybe they experienced some flooding recently, but we didn't see any signs of flooding. Carpets were clean, a/c worked great, bathroom was clean w/good water pressure in shower, &with more than enough clean towels & TP. Beds were firm &comfortable, &TV had just enough channels, not a lot, to keep you entertained when needed. Yes, you could see how old the place is, rusty hinges but no squeaks though, a front door that has taken a beating through the years with dings and scratches, but still solid enough to keep the morning sun from heating through it(we were on the east facing side). It has a handful of restaurants, & various shops within walking distance too. We've also had no problems through the yrs with our gear strapped on our truck in the parking lot. Which also has a hose, free to use to rinse vehicle with."
