Acity trip to Hornfor most means a visit to theHorner Rennbahn: The racetrack draws celebrities, betting enthusiasts and visitors from all over the world during the international derby held each summer.

However, amini-break in Hornis also most certainly worth it when the derby is not happening. Horn and the Horner Racetrack have much more to offer apart from the most significant horse race in Germany. During the rest of the year, the grounds are a popular recreation area with residents and visitors alike. During your short trip to Horn, take in a game of mini golf, go for a stroll, take a jog or play some Basketball. Dogs are also most welcome here. Due to the proximity of the underground station with the same name, you can easily reach the Horner Rennbahn from the main station or from any other district.

While on your city trip to Horn, take advantage of the convenience of the public transport system as the district is located quite centrally. The underground lines U2 and U4 will take you to the main station or to Jungfernstieg on the Alster River in just 10 minutes. The U4 underground line will also take you to the new Harbour City. In the vicinity of the underground station, you will also find supermarkets and shops where you can purchase everything you might need while on your city trip to Horn.

The city of Hamburg, known as the Green Metropolis on the Elbe River, will impress you with its nature and potential for relaxation. Horn has two local recreation areas: Schiffbeker Moor and Horner Moor which offer a pond, playgrounds, pleasant seating areas and football fields to visitors on a city trip. Horner Moor, a former natural bath, is located at the edge of a park in immediate vicinity to the bus stop Stoltenstraße. Schiffbeker Moor with an area for playing petanque, a beach volleyball field and a covered BBQ spot can be easily reached from the bus stop Dannerallee. The mall on Manshardtstraße with more than 30 shops welcomes visitors here as well. The oldest trees in Horn can be found in Blohms Park at the bus stop Culinstraße. The park is one of the oldest green areas in Hamburg. The residents of Horn sought relaxation here as early as the 17th century. Today, enjoy a run on the terrain of four hectares in the shade of enormous trees or have a pick nick on the extensive lawns.

Visitors looking for a cultural experience will enjoy something that in itself makes travelling to Horn worth it: Hamburg’s smallest theatre was founded here in 1999. The Theatre on Washingtonallee offers seating for approximately 40 people. The repertoire consists of adapted classical theatre as well as modern plays.
