"The classic room we booked was very tired and dated. The walls, especially around switchesX were marked, worn and grubby. The bathroom was especially bad, dusty, mouldy and generally needs a refurb - I felt dirty using it! The decoration, fixtures and fittings were extremely dated. The carpets were marked and stained. The hallway was like a labyrinth, and creaked loudly as other guests walked down it past the room. The outlook was a rear court yard, very minimal natural light in the room. The room doors slam loudly, so between that and the hallway our sleep was disturbed often. The bed was average, small double - bedding was clean at least. We were charged £10 extra for a bed for our 2.5 year old son to sleep in. Nobody asked us how our visit was, even on check out. The rest of the hotel looks in need of a good clean and refurb."
"The room was disappointing
Very close to the road and as the windows are old the room was very noisy at night.
The furnishings were also very plain.
The room itself was clean "
"Room was clean and tidy, could do with a refresh decor etc.
We had evening meal, which was excellent accompanied by a very nice Roja. Cero Anon. We will use the hotel again on our next trip to Newmarket "
"Another livery stay at the Dragonfly. The best thing about this hotel is the price and close proximity to Bury St Edmund’s town centre. The staff were very attentive and the rooms clean and comfortable. Lots of free parking and fast taxi service. It doesn’t have lots of amenities like swimming pool, golf course etc., but if you want somewhere like a Premier Inn then it’s great.
A lot more people should consider this hotel as the cost of other hotels nearby seems to be increasing and this hotel chain is fair on price.
We have not eaten here, so I can’t comment of the food."
"Welcoming staff team, always helpful. Easy parking and check in. Large room double aspect windows overlooking the golf course with good facilities. Great gym and pool in the hotel. Good choice at breakfast with a friendly staff team."
"Excellent stay. Staff were superb along with the food and drink on offer. Maybe some healthier options would be a suggestion, plus the heating was constantly on full through the building. Money saving opportunity here.
Definitely recommend."
