Wow. This inn is all about the past but with a modern, friendly approach. The building is very old and the furnishings in the communal areas are in-keeping with the building. The owners and the La staff (Mary, John and Christina) are just amazing and cannot do enough to ensure that your stay is the best it can be. The bedroom was comfortable. An absolutely fabulous stay at the Old Saco Inn. Peter and Sandi were the perfect hosts and we had a thoroughly enjoyably evening with them and a few other guests in the on-site pub. Breakfast was fantastic and the house is set in beautiful surroundings and we made the most of the free canoes and kayaks - taking a row down the river on arrival.

We only stayed one night but would definitely have liked to stay longer. The staff were lovely and our room was clean and comfortable. We ate in the hotel and, despite a longer than usual wait, the meal was very tasty. The help yourself pantry was well stocked but, as a food allergy sufferer, I would have appreciated an allergen list to refer to. Quiet area with plenty of parking.

Beautiful rooms, great breakfast. Be sure to book early for dinner at the restaurant, as they get full, especially for earlier time slots. (And are closed Mondays and Tuesdays). It was nice to have access to the amenities of the resort and the Mount Washington Hotel nearby, like the swimming pool.

We had a fantastic stay. The staff are amazing, we used the pool and gym which only few guests seemed to take advantage of. It was also a pleasure to sit on the patio and look outside. Room above average size.

Very friendly welcome and check-in with Bobbi-Sue. The room was excellent, beautiful views of the lake, comfortable and cosy furniture, just ideal location to chill out. Well placed to explore northern NH and the White Mountains.

Perfect

Lovely hotel for a one night stay during our roadtrip. Unfortunately we were too early for the fall colours - but I can imagine they are spectacular from this hotel. Lovely touches at this hotel but be sure to book ahead for breakfast and dinner as they book up fast!! Unfortunately we didn't get to use the pool due to bad weather. The hot tub looked a bit tired. Good breakfast but not a buffet.

The breakfast was amazing. The views from the balconies were awesome. The staff was so nice and the parking was safe.

The evening meal was top class. The food was probably the best we’ve eaten in our tour of New England. The service was excellent and we were not rushed…a remarkably rare thing when eating out in America. The room was lovely and cosy. We found nothing to fault at all

Loved it! The evening meal was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Bedroom and bathroom lovely, clean and comfortable. Highly recommend. Breakfast pastries lovely only criticism was they only had regular coffee which I am unable to drink caffeine, there was no option for decaf.

A lovely historic hotel in a beautiful setting. We had a two room suite which was large and airy. The bed was very comfortable indeed. There is coffee and tea in the lobby and home made cookies from 4 pm. We enjoyed sitting on the wonderful veranda in the evenings with a delicious cocktail created by Brian. Beautiful room in the Salt Box. Plenty of space to relax, King-size bed and beautiful bathroom. Breakfasts were included and served (only limited items on the buffet e.g. no fruit juice) so you have to order and…………tip!) Food at breakfast and dinner is superb, fresh, beautifully presented and full of flavour. Only downside of our 3 night experience was the Maitre d' experience ; plenty of available tables at breakfast but Kathy keeps you waiting at the desk while she fiddles with coffee maker,...
