Nothing better than a sunrise hike into the Grand Canyon!
Spring is a great time of the year for a canyon hike! The spring cacti are blooming, no snow on the trail and the heat is much more tolerable than in summer months. we visited the park a couple weeks ago and actually required a light jacket and pants in the am and late evening.

Staff member at the lodge was a bit impatient when asked about check-in and othet park information prior to 3 pm. Staff available at 3 pm were wonderfully friendly and helpful. Womens bathroom at main lodge had no water running from sinks-this needs help! Not great, especially when going to eat afterward! ...

Very basic lodgings, but clean, and convenient location in the park accessible to all the trails. The food court is not ideal, but you can always go up to El Tovar for meals.
