"Great hotel, lovely staff. We were visiting family in York so didn’t need to use public transport, but there is a bus route outside to get into town. Clean tidy and comfortable bedrooms, beautiful gardens around the hotel. Would recommend and will be back again."

"Really comfortable clean room. Liked that hairdryer portable and not attached in the bathroom Only negative was only 2 teabags Asked at reception and they didn’t have any so asked at the bar and only allowed 2 without paying for more !! Very mean considering the price of the room. Breakfast really good with lots of choice and friendly staff. Useful that we could leave bags before and after checking in."

"We came here for our mini-moon the day after getting married. We paid almost £500 as a treat to ourselves and we won't be coming back. We have 4 issues with our room which should have been picked up by house-keeping/maintenance. The staff were nice enough and house-keeping was very apologetic but we weren't moved rooms until the next night (which also had a couple of issues but it wasn't worth moving again for). The cocktails were perfect and the food was good, the french fries were my favourite although I did have to send back my caesar salad though due to dirt on the salad leaves. Parking is expensive and unclear. Due to a misunderstanding we ended up paying £84 for parking, the hotel then "refunded" the £40 but it just got turned into credit for the hotel."
