"Conveniently located at walking distance from the train station Southampton Central and just a few minutes away by cab from the Mayflower cruise terminal where I boarded QM2 the next day (7£ for the ride). The room was spacious enough, quiet. Checkin was quick, staff was friendly and efficient. Checkout was even quicker, just had to drop the room card in the checkout box"

"First of all, there was no staff or anyone to welcome you. We reserved a room with a private bath, and when we arrived we had been assigned a different room with no private bathroom. The shared bathroom available was filthy and the linoleum was coming off the floor. The bedroom was dirty as well and the beds were like cots, horrible mattresses. We tried to reach property owner with no avail. They never responded to any of our inquiries. Within 15 mins, we booked a room at local hotel and left immediately. Thornbury House should be removed from your inventory and no longer be permitted to rent rooms in private home. It was a 0 out of 10 rating for my daughter and I. Very disappointing experience. We weren’t even able to get a refund, since room was paid ahead of time through Expedia."
