"Visiting from the States with family and lived in Horncastle always a great stay. Staff remembers us from our last visit! Food excellent and service too. I did miss the more intimate seating in the bar area as the couches were changed with tables. Lighting way to modern and hot ! We had a party of 20 people and were sweating!! Keep it cozy , it’s The Rodney not a Holiday Inn !"

"On first inpression dark entrance dirty dining room glass doors and mirror. Up stairs banister needed a good dusting. Into bed room no bin in b room and bathroom one had no insert. No protective stuff on beds and pillows. Stuff under beds and plenty of dust. This is not a hotel nor a b an b as they rent rooms out for the homeless. They were lovely pleasantl people who spoke. Dont fancy taking up weed as we got enough through the window. Doors banging at all times. If i hadnt already paid we would have moved not worth the 180.00 for 4 nights.table clothes were bed sheets and not changed. Tom and bean juice still on. "

"The positives- off street parking available. Breakfast is from 7am and there is a good choice available, including fresh fruit. Negative (for Room 11 in the secondary building) - single gazed windows with condensation, so allowed noise of street traffic in throughout the night. Curtains do not close fully so light streams in with sunrise. Shower - huge leaks from both ends of shower head pipe. Storage shelf in bathroom on large downward angle & about to fall off. All of the above raised at checkout. Central heating not turned on (was about 3C at night); thankfully there was a plug in radiator in cupboard. Room is tiny, barely enough space to put down bag & turn around. Room & door not sound-proofed, can hear opening/closing of doors & bathroom fan of room next door. Overall the hotel is in dire need of an upgrade."
