This was our favourite stay while in Iceland. The cabins were well stocked and quiet, the right distance from town to feel removed. We were able to cook basic meals and we loved having access to a hot tub and sauna. Wouldn’t change a thing. It was lovely!

It was one of our favorite places we stayed at in Iceland, owners were great and the cabin was amazing but for me one of the best parts was the sauna and jacuzzi

We had such a lovely stay in this cottage. It’s so cozy and welcoming, the view is absolutely breathtaking, and the owner’s cat and dogs are so friendly, reminds us of our dog back at home. We’ve stayed at a lot of places in the world, and kalda is definitely one for the books! Only wish we could stay a bit longer

Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen, Sauna und Jakuzzi unter freiem Himmel, umgeben von Wald, nur für uns. Das Frühstück war hervorragend, vieles homemade: Joghurt mit Chia, Kokosmilch und Brombeeren, geräucherte Lachsforelle, Marmelade, dazu Obst, Tomate, Gurke, Paprika und Käse. Brötchen. Alles vorbereitet im Kühlschrank, essen im eigenen Häuschen mit Blick auf Fluss. Sehr gut geschlafen 😀

Wunderschöne und liebevoll eingerichtetes Ferienhäuschen mit sehr vielen Details. Hervorragende Ausstattung der kleinen Küche. Von Kaffee, Tee, Öl, Essig, Salz, Pfeffer etc. war viel nützliches zum Kochen vorhanden. Wir nutzten zusätzlich die Schlafcouch welche top zum Schlafen war. Die Gastgeberin ist sehr freundliche. Der große Hottub und die Sauna können pro Tag 1 h kostenlos, privat genutzt werden, hierzu fixiert man mit der Gastgeberin sehr unkompliziert den Zeitpunkt.

Wonderful

This was a beautiful little cottage/cabin! The owner took great care to make us so comfortable and welcome. She personally prepared breakfast for us and left it in the fridge all ready for us. This was our favorite place we stayed in our 10 days in Iceland!

We had a lovely relaxing couple of days and were made to feel so welcome! We loved all the thoughtful little touches and attention to detail in the lodge. On a clear night we were able to stargaze and see the northern lights from the hot tub and our porch! Wish we could have stayed longer!

What more can be said about Kalda Lyngholt Holiday Homes that already hasn’t been said?! This was hands down the best accommodations in our weeklong stay in Iceland! Ásdís was an extremely warm host and accommodated us with the sauna, jacuzzi and even did our laundry! Did I mention the homemade biscuits and yougurts?! The cottages are very clean and beautifully decorated and had a very warm and inviting character. Plus, the view is absolutely amazing! This was my favorite stop on our 10 day Ring road tour. The host, the cabin and the property are all wonderful. Nestled in the woods with lots of hiking trails nearby, including the one to Dettifoss. Sauna and hot tub were private and welcome after several long days on the road. While there, I already started to plan when to come back and spend more time at that cottage!

Home away from home

This is not your average IKEA-style cottage (nothing wrong with that, but you know what I mean). This is a home-away-from-home with lots of nice features. A waterboiler, a Senseo-machine with some pads ánd a coffee filter. A Weber gas-BBQ on your porch, use of a sauna and hottub if you like ánd morning coat & slippers. Plus: the complimentary warm welcome from the owner herself ;-) Recommended, folks!

Great place

This was by far the best place we stayed on our tour of Iceland. The hostess was very helpful and the little chalet perfect with everything we needed there’s even a waterfall in the grounds. We also had a very sunny stay, sunbathing on the deck in the early evening.

Best hotel of the entire Iceland road trip!

This was far & away my favorite place to stay during our Iceland road trip and I wish we ciykd’ve Stayed longer. Gorgeous location and EXCELLENT customer service! The owner anticipated all our needs and wants and made us feel very welcome. Her attention to detail was amazing. She put together a delicious breakfast with homemade jam, emailed directions to our next destination, etc. also best nught’s Sleep of entire trip since my friend that snores had her own room (I had the sofa Ed and it was very comfy!). Great stay! Highly recommend!
