I appreciated having kettle, fridge, TV, coffee tea etc provided. Room and shared bathroom very clean and bed comfortable. The unique coded entrance to foyer and room provided convenience and security. The manager was friendly and welcoming, and local ransportation to the city etc. by bus across from the property was efficient. Shops and restaurants within easy walking distance.

Staff was helpful. Shared bathroom was inconvenient with little amenities. We were able to check in early which was very nice to nap and freshen up after our long flight. They stored our luggage for a small fee on the last day.

This is a rudimentary, but clean and safe accommodation in a desirable part of Edinburgh. It is not for those who have any kind of mobility impairment, as I had to drag my luggage up 3 flights of stairs. It is a bit careworn, especially the shared bath. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see a good view of Arthur’s Seat from my window.

Big clean room for 4 people for two nights. 25 mins walk from Royal mile which was fine and on the bus route if preferred. Only issue shower head already broken so had to hold the shower. Otherwise great stay for the price. Would definitely recommend

The location was very walkable to amenities which was the main selling point. The room we had in the basement was very dated, rather noisy, and looked nothing like the room photos shown. If this is a bed and breakfast the breakfast part was not evident.

We found the place easily. Parking was fine. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was small but fine for a night. The bed though was made with an old, dainty iron frame. It creaked a lot at the slight movement. Public transportation is nearby. We even walked back from downtown Edinburgh.

It didn't look anything like the pictures. The room was not clean, there was rubbish under the bed and the kettle was not usable. The bus stop was two minutes away and it was also walkable from the center, so location is good, and also the lady checking us in was nice. However, the cleanliness would make me not want to stay again.

The location is conveniently located on the bus route to the city centre but we chose to walk the 2km into town. We didn't have a fridge in our room but the hosts agreed to freeze some water bottles for our cooler bag. We didn't have towels and cups for all of our group but they were provided when requested. The beds were comfortable but the bathroom needs some maintenance attention. Our shower head functioned but the spray unit kept falling off. Overall it was fine for our three night stay.

The hostess, Saghira, went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable during my stay. She was the perfect hostess and responded straight away when I contacted her for assistance. The property itself is located near bus stops that take you straight to the heart of the city centre. It's an easy 10-15 minute bus ride. The property is clean and homely. The bathroom is routinely cleaned. I have enjoyed my stay at the Edinburgh Travel Guest House and if I ever return, I will make sure to book my stay with them again!

The guesthouse is a great place to stay if you’re on a budget or even just in Edinburgh for a short period of time. It’s about a ~30/45min walk to central Edinburgh, however it is right off of the local bus lines which made it very easy to commute in/out of the city. The room was spacious with plenty of storage, had a tv/fridge/and tea kettle, and the bed was comfortable and big enough to share between two people. The bedroom door was thick enough to where it was hard to hear people in the hallway talking, but you could hear other doors opening and closing. The shared bathrooms are convenient to each room, but I would recommend bringing shower shoes to get from place to place. The bathroom itself was very clean. The two negatives I had of the bathroom were low supply of toilet paper and soap at times and the water pressure was very low. It would be a struggle to wash your hair if you’re a female. Overall, we had a great experience for the cost, service, and expectation of the Guesthouse.

Avoid this property – Severe bedbug infestation, cleanliness issues, and poor communication We had an extremely disappointing stay at this property (Room 1) and strongly advise against booking here. Communication & Arrival: Prior to our late arrival, the hotel completely ignored all of our phone calls and messages. We had to contact Expedia support just to try to reach them. Expedia assured us they would assist if no one responded upon our arrival in Edinburgh. When we finally arrived around 2:00 AM, we had to knock and ring the bell multiple times before a staff member answered. The lady who checked us in was admittedly very kind and helpful—she guided us to our room, opened the back doors, and assisted with parking. However, be aware that the rear car park is exceptionally narrow; you risk scratching your vehicle if you aren't extremely careful. Room Condition & Hygiene: The issues inside Room 1 (a basement room) were appalling: Bedbug Infestation:The room was infested with bedbugs across the bed, seats, and the small cot. My family and I ended up with severe rashes all over our bodies, including painful bite marks near our eyelids. Lack of Cleanliness:The entire room looked ancient and was covered in thick dust. The washroom was completely dirty and clearly had not been properly cleaned before our stay. The night staff's helpfulness at check-in does not make up for the unacceptable hygiene and safety hazards. We will never recommend this prop

The room on the main floor facing the front was big and had two beds (one double one single). The bathroom and beds were clean but the mattress of the double bed was not comfortable at all and we'd get a strange smell sometimes. It was Ok though, we enjoyed our stay!
