Longhorn Casino & Hotel

4/10 Poor

"Room (which accepted dogs) was in poor condition with broken cabinet hinges, rip in bed skirt and shredded comforter. Grout was atrocious and black, and door was scratched to hell at base with no sweep. We were in a nonsmoking room but it was loaded in secondary smoke from casino, I believe due to the almost 2” gap at base of door which did not have a sweep which allowed smoke and dogs to pop their noses and paws through causing dogs to scare other dogs. Bathroom mirror was water damaged and tub in poor condition. Broken toilet seat lid. Etc. I did report it so I would not be charged for damage to room. I was unexpectedly charged $200 plus for a supposed $100 refundable deposit if room was left in good condition. We shall see if they actually refund the $100 portion as my dogs created none. Expedia said I would not have any additional fees but maybe the small print said with exception of dog deposit, I would not expect anything else."

"If you're looking for a well-priced, very clean. Very nice hotel. You can't go wrong with Sam's Town. I've stayed here several times, and I would give five out of five stars each time. Like I said you want a nice place to stay. That's well priced. Go here. Look nowhere else"

"Online photos are misleading. It showed a tub with clear views of the strip and I requested the same room even paid extra for strip facing but instead got a walk in shower no views just my room faced the strip. When I asked about this they just said the new tower only had those room types. I asked to be switched to old tower but was told it would be upgrade of $250 per night on top of what I paid."

"We showed up extremely late for our stay. We were treated very well by the staff member on duty. She was professional and helpful in getting us checked in efficiently and courteously. The room was clean and we rested for the few hours of our stay. I will stay here again when traveling with my pet."

Hoover Dam Lodge

"Great Staff and Comfortable Bed, But the Property Needs Serious Help The Good: The receptionist, Vix, was incredibly professional, attentive, and made checking in a breeze. The cleaning lady was also wonderful; she kindly explained that full room service wasn't available but went out of her way to ensure we had fresh towel sets and plenty of shampoo and conditioner. The Bad: Elevator Issues: For a hotel with 17 floors, keeping only one elevator in service just to cut costs is unacceptable and caused major inconveniences. The flyers we were given for "free coffee" were useless because coffee was never actually ready. Additionally, the ice machine on our floor was completely out of service. Disappointing Dining: The three "24/7" restaurants were each staffed by only a single person. Worse, we were told all the food was just microwaved—there were zero fresh options available. While we understand it is a casino, there needs to be a better separation between smoking and non-smoking areas. All of our clothing ended up impregnated with the smell of cigarette smoke. The Room: The wall outlets were too loose/worn out, making it impossible for our plugs to stay in to charge our phones. The air conditioning unit was incredibly loud but barely cooled the room. The window curtains had holes in them, letting the morning sun rays right through. The bathroom vanity/lavatory area was also far too small, with no room for our toiletries. In general, this hotel needs a BIG facelift! Great Staff"
