"The room was comfortable and quiet. Staff were welcoming and the breakfast was great. We ate at the pub on a couple of evenings. The food was excellent. Would highly recommend. "
"A lovely hotel with a few surprises. The grounds were magnificent. We had a castle room which from a historical point of view was wonderful. The wardrobe was a bonus! "

"It was lovely. We were well looked after. The staff and locals were friendly. The Stables were a row of Butlin’s style chalets. It was perfectly set up for self catering with a fridge, toaster and microwave. "

"The place was easy to find and was clean and pleasant to stay. The only down side was the terrible WiFi speeds as was only 3mps which meant we couldn't even stream a TV pgm on the TV."
"On entering the property we was greeted by the reception staff they were very friendly and helpful, they made our short stay feel at ease, had everything we needed and the owner was so polite even carried my bag upstairs and said anything we need just ask. Really can’t fault our room was lovely felt homely & cosy, the area was nice & quiet. Highly recommend this place. We had the family room as it was the last one left for us to book & was a great size room. 10/10 "
"An overnight stay needed before a uni offer day at Durham., I just wish we could have stayed longer.
Clean, comfortable, everything you could possibly need and the views !
Hopefully the uni offer will be accepted and I can stay again for a while longer !"
"Our stay at Burnhopeside Hall was one of our most memorable ever. Christine, our hostess, was delightful and helpful. The room was spacious and the surroundings could not have been more grand. This is a stately old home, full of beautiful furniture and dishes, near sheep pastures and the river. While there, we walked the yard and fields behind the house, went down to the river, accompanied by Barney and Spencer (the Burnhopeside dogs!). Breakfast was delicious and elegantly presented. This was a memorable stay!!"
