"You get what you pay for. These are a great price for space and location. They are a little tired and there's a lack of sunbeds, but overall great value for money. Beware the overspill from the clubs nearby - outside with very loud music til 6am one morning. But that's not the property's fault. The dogs are noisy but not aggressive."

"The LUX hotel deserves its 5 star status. It has great facilities for both families with & without children and even has an adult only beach area. Main gripe was the fact that the sea is so shallow you can hardly get any depth to swim properly which I felt was a shame. The staff are second to none. Shout out to Sandeep in reception, Neru & Vishal in the buffet restaurant area who were excellent "

"Absolute perfection. We loved everything about our stay and can’t stop telling people about it. We wanted peace and quiet and that is exactly what we got. Absolutely beautiful property in a perfect, quiet, unspoiled (and not too ‘touristy’ area of the country, with excellent friendly welcoming staff. Food and drinks were great. We adored the friendly resident dogs who welcomed us back every day. Bliss. . "

"It’s a 4* hotel with a 5* service that was as good as I have experienced in a long time. All the staff were Mauritian and the difference is so noticeable that when you go to other non-Beachcomber hotels where much of the staff is seasonably imported and the standards are so poor. The location in Gran Baie was excellent for all the northern trips. The beach was nice. The A La Carte was exceptional. But the best benefit was you could use all the facilities and restaurants of the local sister hotels Viktoria & Canonier that were superb and where everything was equally as good. The restaurants were all magnificent. We loved our stay at the Mauricia and will use Beachcomber again when we return to the La Morne area in a couple of years. "
