"My son and I had a lovely stay here for one night in a supreme runway room. My son was very impressed as he loves planes. The room was bright and well decorated, the wall art was beautiful. The mattress was softer than I'm used to but still really comfortable, we both had a wonderful nights sleep. The sealant around the window needed replacing, the plug in the bath was permanently in (blocking the plug hole) and the lights under the bathroom counter no longer worked. For these reasons I have knocked a star off. We both really enjoyed watching the planes during the daylight and into the evening. The hotel really is in a lovely position. The gentleman who worked the front desk was very helpful and friendly, as were all the staff. We ate at the restaurant on the evening and the food was lovely. Cooked fresh and tasty. It was a bit on the expensive side but worth it. A bit more choice on the menu would have been good. We also had breakfast which was yum. There was the usual cooked items although fried eggs were missing. The pastries were plentiful and it was nice to see some vegan items. The vegan choice was good also and the cereal choice was brilliant. We loved the late check out time also, it gave me some time to chill out and finish my coffee in the seating area between reception and the restaurant. Overall this is a lovely hotel that was set out really well, in a brilliant position for the airport with loads of secure parking. Will visit again. Thank you to all the staff."

"Amazingly refurbished hotel back to the period features tha were in place from the original build period. Very traditional decor in keeping with the building and a breath of fresh air when compared to most modern 'box like' hotel rooms that are just built for functionality these days."

"The dining area was clean. The breakfast was nice. The staff were polite and friendly. Our room had water dripping all day and night from the A/C unit, causing a wet patch on the carpet which wasn’t very nice at all. Other than this the room was very clean. Unfortunately the pool area needed a clean and also a freshen up with decor and DIY. The showers were not clean. I was using this facility for the first time and didn’t realise there was no complimentary shower gel in the cubicles."

"The Staff were amazing, very helpful and while check in we had a confusion as we needed a connected room while booking had booked due to the fact that it had connected rooms, when we arrived after a 4 hrs. drive noticed that the booking was not as per how i booked. however the lady and the housekeeping staff helped to get a room quickly. this is amazing service, the only -ve i would say is the parking fee."

"I've stayed at this hotel before, and it was a good value once again. My room was clean and tidy, and the bed was comfortable, making it easy to get a good night’s sleep. The room's atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, which I appreciated after a long day. The only small issue was that YouTube on the TV was set to Polish, but that wasn't a big problem for me since I know how to use the platform. The key card was a bit tricky to use in the hallway, but the staff helped me sort it out. Breakfast was okay, though the sausages and a temperature probe left in the meat platter weren't as appealing as the other options. The location is great if you want to be in the centre of Derby. It's just a short walk from the train station and only a few minutes to Derbion for shopping or food. Despite being so central, I found the area around the hotel surprisingly quiet at night, thanks to the car park near a Tesco Express, which made it easy to get a restful sleep."

"Used this hotel as my son and I were going to Download and its convenient location was ideal. Contact from the hotel was really good prior to the visit to confirm the names of guests and whether car parking was needed, taking the registration number of the vehicle. Reception staff were helpful as we got there a few hours before check in but they let us in as the room was ready. They confirmed that the booking was for room only and explained that we could book breakfast each day if we wanted to. Room was clean with good storage. The only problem was the lack of water pressure for the shower but that didn't spoil our stay."
