"Really nice hotel at the price point. Friendly helpful staff and excellent buffet breakfast. Parking was a bit tricky as it is on the road outside and fairly full whilst we were staying but we always managed to find a space. Very good location for beach / shops etc. Double bed seemed a bit small but comfy enough. Would certainly stay there again and will recommend to friends."

"We really enjoyed our three night stay at the hotel. Great location / base for exploring the area. Staff very welcoming and helpful, quality (and quantity!) of food good, attractive hotel offering value for money. We would have rated excellent but found the mattress too soft and there was a long delay at dinner one evening which was very frustrating. Notwithstanding the above comments we thoroughly recommend the hotel and will book again next time we are in the area."

"For the price it met my expectations, basic but everything you need room wise. Breakfast was ok, nothing spectacular. The building itself was a complete rabbit warren. To access my room it was basically a maze - up, down, turn right, down, turn than up 4 floors, over the other side then down again. Total mess of a floor plan. I can only assume that wasn’t on purpose and just expanded room by room - but ultimately equals a total nightmare to navigate. Parking was excellent. Plenty of room and only £9 per 24h - which I thought was great value. Well positioned hotel for the sea front - only a couple mins walk and you’re there. Room was incredibly hot, heated flooring in bathroom was not a welcome addition in a heatwave. No air con, but they do leave a little fan in the room - not that it helped in heatwave temps. Overall, not a bad place. You get what you pay for, expect to get exactly the value back as the room rate charged and you won’t be disappointed. Basic but absolutely fine."

"Very warm and welcoming, friendly and helpful hosts. Homely accommodation. (Stairs to rooms) but we managed with luggage. We only stayed 1 night on our journey but found it lovely and relaxing. Tea/coffee/water available along with toiletries if you forgot to pack any. Good location/safe and walkable to sea front. Parking onsite by request. Would recommend. Thanks for having us. "The main areas have been refurbished and are lovely apart from the TV blasting away all day. ( children’s tv during a quiet breakfast) The bedrooms have not been re-done yet but are clean and ok. The breakfast serving staff were too busy chatting to each other to help. We went in shortly after a coach trip and there was no fresh fruit salad left and no pain au chocolate. No salt and pepper on our table, a dirty mug and very abrupt service, however the food was good. I think with someone in charge of the service this could become a very good hotel, front desk staff were helpful organising taxis for us. We will stay here next time we visit and hope the breakfast service will be better. Overall a good place to stay in a fabulous location, it could be fantastic."

"Despite living in the village 50yrs ago, going to the primary school and getting married at the local church 21 yrs ago, even playing for the village football club in the 90’s, I’d never set foot in the Cockhaven Manor Hotel before. So booking it for our 21st wedding anniversary break was a choice well made. The staff are so friendly and helpful, from helping with our potential late arrival on a Thursday evening, to adding an extra night because we enjoyed it so much, they couldn’t have been more accommodating ! The room we had was beautifully laid out with a lovely en-suite, an amazing shower and plenty of room for our dog crate ! They really are so helpful and accepting of their dog guests with no extra charge ! The included breakfast menu is top quality, with so much to choose from and a delight to come down too ! We decided to dine there on one of our three evenings and I have to say the evening menu is just as lovely. Again with so much to choose from and great value for money. The fresh bread and oils pre starter , the best we’ve ever had ! The views from the conservatory to the hills and in our room a view to the river just add to the charm of this beautifully kept little gem. The bar area kept to the old style pub feel, just real cosy and inviting, we loved it ! If life allows , we’d look no further than the Cockhaven for any future visits back to the village of my very young life. One of our nicest weekends away ! Thank you ALL at the Cockhaven !🙏"
