COVID-19 may have changed how we travel, but it hasn't deterred our lust for exploring. Here are some tips on how to navigate travel's new challenges:

• Research what rules and restrictions apply to both your origin and destination. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so don't forget to check government advisories before booking.
• When you pass through airport screening, keep your face mask on. You will be asked to lower it briefly for ID purposes. Those who refuse to wear a mask may be fined and denied entry.
• To reduce the possibility of cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the reader yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA officer.
• TSA now permits passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on bags. This will need to be removed from your bag for X-ray screening.
• To reduce handling during screening, place personal items such as your keys, wallet, phone and belt into your carry-on instead of the bins.
• If you're taking food through security screening, place it in a clear plastic bag and then into a scanning bin. This reduces the likelihood that a TSA agent will need to touch your carry-on bag or food container for closer inspection.
