Holiday Inn Express & Suites Calgary NW - University Area by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"There swimming pool is free but there are swimming instructors that will look at you while your using the pool. Because they teaching kids at the same time the hotel guest were using the pool."
"We will welcome and signed in to the hotel very efficiently. The location is very close to the important roads in Calgary and also close to the university. Which was why we chose to stay there. Wouldn’t hesitate to come again."
"Was passing by and thought we should just get a "hotel". We decided to stay here as it was a bit on our way. Little did we anticipate that it was far out of our way, leading us to get in "late". The desk was closed after 9 but we got there shortly before 10pm. The hotel staff were nice enough to leave the directions to our camp in a box outside since we got in after the front desk closed. Unfortunately we found this just to be a very expensive campsite as we had a cold sleep and no light coming in late. The idea is cute but we didn't do the homework on the property as we were just passing by. We didn't have blankets or bedding (unaware we needed that) but luckily the "hotel" was able to rent us some blankets. But for the price of hotel, next time I'm sorry but we will just get a hotel."
Hampton Inn & Suites By Hilton Calgary- University Northwest
8/10 Good
"We have stayed here many times and it has always been our go-to hotel in Calgary.
Unfortunately, the current renovations are taking a toll on the overall experience. Yesterday, finding the lobby entrance was challenging due to the scaffolding and construction. The interior carpets are also showing considerable wear.
That said, our room was great and the staff were friendly and helpful as always.
As a Hilton Honors member, I was disappointed that I could not access the internet without rejoining Hilton Honors. There was nowhere to enter my membership number, so I chose not to use the service.
Breakfast was the usual offering, with plenty of coffee available.
We will likely wait until the renovations are complete before returning. Having said that, we do not currently have any Calgary trips planned for a while anyway."
"They took may payment for both nights upfront. No credit card for incidentals. I asked for my receipt with a zero balance three times and they couldn't do it."
