"Do not stay here. Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and the owner was incompetent - there was no apparent cause but for around an hour it kept tripping again so eventually I tried (without success) to sleep in my car. The hotel was dirty, no-one was available to help/serve breakfast etc, items such as milk in the kitchen fridge were out of date. It is a very old unmodernised property."

"The Lodge was clean and presented well. However lounge furniture especially chair needed cleaning on the arms. Staff very helpful when i lost earring down the bathroom sink. However one thing not done after being highlighted was road night lights not working. We extended our stay as well."

However, this year, Expedia accepted my booking and my money, and when I arrived late at night after a long drive - the hotel was closed - and up for Sale! I had to find a room after 9pm on the busiest weekend of the year. I have asked Expedia to refund my money but had no acknowledgement."
