Dotonbori Hotel

"Overall, this hotel was okay and pretty much what you’d expect for the price. The staff were genuinely kind, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay, which we really appreciated. The biggest downside was the size of the family room. While it fit three double beds, there was very little space left over—just enough room for one or two suitcases. The bathroom was also quite small. Our room’s air conditioning wasn’t working properly and would occasionally stop in the middle of the night, which made sleeping uncomfortable. The pillows were very thin, and when I asked for extras, I was told none were available. Another thing to note is that the laundry machines were quite expensive—about double what we paid at our hotel in Kyoto. On the positive side, we loved all the complimentary perks. The hotel provided free cup noodles, and there were stations offering complimentary coffee, soft drinks, ice cream, and even alcohol during certain hours. These extras definitely added value to our stay. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, and the friendly staff and freebies helped make up for some of the shortcomings. That said, I do think the hotel could improve the room layout and overall space, especially for families."

"The staff were exceptionally helpful and polite, from check in to graciously stepping in to help ship our luggage even a day earlier than the luggage service stated! We ship our bags always to the next hotel while in Japan. The QR code for the service at the lobby desk MUST be utilized before 1100 (which we did not know until the afternoon) to get the bags sent out in 1-2 days. The staff actually stopped the luggage courier right before he was leaving that day, and managed to get our bags to be picked up the next day, versus the 2 days per the online booking! Now, that was well above and beyond expected service and this is the part that convinced me to again use this hotel for our November, 2026 trip. We love the washing machine in the room, this was a godsend. Toiletries and the Nescafe coffee machine in the room were awesome! I did agree with the prior reviews that the rooms were markedly dark/ dim. However, I did ask the property and they informed me that there are extra lights we could rent out for the room on our next stay : ). Rooms were very quiet and bed was VERY comfortable. HIGHLY recommend the location as well!"

"I had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. My room was on a higher floor with city views, which made the stay feel a little more special and provided a pleasant outlook. The location was another major advantage. The hotel was well situated and very convenient for public transport, making it easy to get around the city and explore the surrounding area. One of the highlights was the lounge access, which offered refreshments and drinks at various times throughout the day. This was a really welcome addition and added genuine value to the experience, providing a comfortable place to relax between sightseeing and other activities. The room itself was comfortable, with a reasonably comfortable bed and well-maintained bathroom facilities. Everything was clean and in good condition. The hotel does not have a gym, which may be a drawback for some travellers. However, for me, the lounge access more than compensated for this and helped distinguish the property from many other city hotels. Overall, this was a comfortable and enjoyable stay in a convenient location, and I would happily consider staying here again."

"We booked two rooms and both rooms are very clean, modern, spacious and beautifully decorated. The location of the hotel is perfect for us, it is near Namba park, quiet, safe but still within walking distance to transportation. There are many shoppings, cafes and dining options around the areas. This is our 2nd time staying at this hotel. We will definitely choose this hotel again when we visit Osaka in the future. Highly recommended!"
