Lovely room and very helpful staff

The hotel is located very close to the A19 near to Yarm, however it is located in the beautiful and tranquil grounds which enjoy stunning views of the Cleveland Hills with only a very low level of noise drifting up from the A19. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout. We were made to feel both very welcome and comfortable with nothing being a problem. Checked in mid evening and was cold outside. Was informed at check in that the team had been to my room and closed the curtains and put the heating on so it was not cold. Wow now that’s some check in service

Great restaurant

The hotel was lovely with fantastic sea views and lots of character was very clean and tidy .

A warm welcome on our first visit to this new hotel, right in the centre of Middlesbrough, nearly opposite the town hall. Clean, fresh rooms and a comfortable bed - although ours was only a standard double, rather than king size. Good selection at breakfast.

Stayed two nights will definitely be staying again. The staff are very friendly and cannot do enough to ensure that you enjoy your stay.

Fantastic, authentic castle with such history and higgledy piggledy corridors. It was our anniversary and we were welcomed with an anniversary card which was a nice touch. The staff were excellent. We only had breakfast which was delicious and staff were efficient and friendly. The food in the library looked good. We had a courtyard room and were very happy with it. If you're expecting modern, corporate decor it might not be for you but we liked it and so nice to stay in a castle with character....

Friendly welcome on arrival and was actually shown to the room. Lovely and clean with refreshments and bottled water. Food was excellent both dinner and breakfast. Would definitely book again

Friendly staff, very clean, great breakfast

I never sleep well on the first night away in a hotel, but I slept like a baby here. I found everything to be clean, well laid out and comfortable. The owners were warm and amiable when I arrived, and I really appreciated the laid back approach to breakfast and check-out. If I'm ever in the area again I'll be sure to look them back up.

Awesome guest house. I travel for work and this is one guest house I'll be booking again for myself outside of work.

Loved my stay. Lovely view and very clean bedroom and en-suite.

Short stay for family visit so didn't try the restaurant. Bed room excellent, Hypnos mattress very comfortable. Bath room was a little "tired" and could do with a bit of a re-vamp but that's all. Very clean, will definitely stay again.
