"The property was nice, with a Euro flair for minimalism. After check-in with the friendly staff, I didn't need to interact with them save for the bartender at the poolside bar. Getting used to the lobby being on the 5th floor due to being hurricane-reslilent was easy, and a quirk we have seen elsewhere. Everything was clean and worked just fine. The only downside we felt was that the breakfast offered wasn't that appealing, but was nonetheless pricey; lots of other options within easy walking distance. One-block walk to the beach was also a big plus. "

"Do NOT stay here. You will be lied to REPEATEDLY. I reserved and paid for a marina view room with a kitchenette and balcony. Due to a prior issue with this same property (mind you I’ve NEVER had an issue like this with booking through a third party other than this property and we are frequent travelers). I took the extra step of contacting the hotel directly two days prior to arrival to confirm my reservation details. During multiple conversations with the front desk representative, Karla, I was explicitly informed that despite my confirmed Expedia reservation, I was only assigned a standard room because the booking was made through a third-party platform. I was then advised that I would be required to pay an additional $56.60 per night to receive the room type I had already reserved and reasonably expected. Under significant time pressure (less than 48 hours before travel), and after more than six hours spent attempting to resolve this matter with Expedia, as well as multiple calls with both Karla and General Manager Keaton, I finally agreed to pay the additional charge. On the day of arrival, during a layover, I again contacted the hotel and received direct confirmation from Karla that the upgraded room would be ready upon check-in. We arrived and it was a standard room. Very misleading and inaccurate with truthful communication to get you onsite and have no other options. Expedia did nothing to assist. Side note: Gina was amazing and truly cares about customers!!!!!"
