Away from the madding crowd
This resort would suit a young family. There's lots of space for kids to run around in safety and the pool is close to the rooms and reception area. Although a bit out of the centre, a taxi costs just 80 baht to the night bazaar area and takes about 15 minutes...rooms are spacious and maybe need sprucing up a little but comfortable with a separate seating area...and you get a bath. So all quite good really.
We had a great stay at the Palm Springs Lodge while we were in Chiang Mai. The staff were very helpful and accomodating, the breakfast excellent and the pool pleasant.
The only real downside is the location. It's a ways from the City Center, and there isn't a lot in the immediate area; however, the shuttle or a quick taxi ride is easy to get you wherever needed.
Spacious and clean hotel. Quiet and feels like at home. Incredibly friendly staff who are willing to accommodate any request made our stay comfortable. The only thing is to be a bit further away from the city centre, but it wasn't much of trouble for us as we travelled outside of city often with a car.
Our stay was amazing! The staff was soo great and attentive. From the moment we walked in, they were attentive to our needs ("do you want to see the pool?", "What would you like for breakfast?", "Do you need help with the suitcases?" - she wanted to lift our 50lbs suitcases). The "A la Carte" breakfast was delicious! - fresh, unique (because I usually never have a salad with my breakfast) and healthy. We had a great stay, relaxed, convenient shuttle to the city and to the he airport. ONLY downsides were 1) that this is a rustic hotel so it has beautiful charm (the keys are those old school ones in brass) so expect there to be some spiders and geckos - we loved it (this is Thailand people...) but not everyone might, 2) the beds were a little hard (I liked mine but my friend wasn't a fan), 3) the TV didn't work but we didn't really care since we didn't come to Thailand to watch TV 4) it's a little secluded and a lot of cab drivers complained it was a little far... but we liked how isolated it was. I have definitely made a promise to myself to come again with my boyfriend and I KNOW he's going to love it. Thank you Thamna Hotel Staff! ♡♡
Although there is no elevator to the second floor, the staff were willing, able, and ready to assist with carrying luggage. Staff were very accommodating and polite. The breakfasts were delicious.
Family of 4 (teenage kids). We were expecting a basic 3 star hotel and were very pleasantly surprised. Free shuttle takes away any location issue. Just 15-mins to old city. Large property with vehicle security checkpoint. Owners and staff all very warm and welcoming with most having some English proficiency. Building and rooms are older, but well maintained and charming with a sense of local heritage. In house restaurant makes good food from a Pakistani and Thai menu. Immediate surrounding area is mainly highway and gas stations, but again their shuttle is great for going both in and out of town. There is a 7/11 for needed purchases nearby. Free onsite cooking/traditional umbrella painting/Thai dessert making classes daily. Beds are firm, but after a long day of local activities you won't care. Decent wifi, big pool and quiet setting. Free water and snacks refilled daily. Owners are hands-on with personalized service. Will happily return and recommend to everyone.
Very friendly, considerate and helpful staff.
We were there around Christmas. Have to say it is quite a bargain for the price we paid.
It is 10-15min drive from the old town, and the neighbourhood does not have much to offer. Mind that most tuk tuk in the old town refuse to go there, so remember to download Grab if you do not have a car. Having said that, it means the hotel is a perfect choice if you want to stay in a quite and relaxing place.

Correct
