"Stayed in the Estrella room, it was beyond beautiful. Long scenic walk to the room, kitchenette, and filtered water in the full sized fridge. Staff was very kind and helpful, since the hotel was 6 hours from SJO we had to leave at 4 am and to our surprise there was a staff member there to assist with checkout. There are no key drop-boxes, so I was worried about how we were going to return it. Overall an amazing stay."

"What an absolutely incredible place to stay! From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found somewhere special. The property is beautiful, the atmosphere is so peaceful, and the views are simply breathtaking. Pictures really don’t do it justice! We loved waking up every morning, enjoying the amazing scenery, and just taking in everything this beautiful place has to offer. I can't recommend this hotel enough – I spent 3 nights here and loved every minute. Everything was perfect – super location, a clean, serene room with a balcony to sit out on and watch all the wildlife... Delicious breakfast and food in the restaurant (and at the moment all the football matches projected on the wall!) ... Every member of staff was kind and helpful... And so many nice touches: the lovely yoga in the open air studio... freshly baked cake every afternoon... and a to-go breakfast on...

One of, if not, the best hotel we have stayed in. The views over the Pacific Ocean are amazing. We stayed in both the villa Palma and villa sol. Both were great. The Palma had a smaller, colder plunge pool but a great big shower with a view out of the window. The sol had a great big bed, big bathroom and bigger pool with loungers. Both had hammocks and tables with great storage in the room. If I had to choose just one I would go for the sol because of the pool and slightly more west facing view...

Really loved staying here and would highly recommend it. Everything was great, the grounds and location are amazing right on the beach. The breakfast was really nice, rooms aren’t massive but have everything you need and are clean and comfy and the staff were all really friendly and helpful. I only had a tiny 2wd car and Casa Cecilia was easily accessible along the road in Santa Teresa with this (was in dry season though, maybe would need 4x4 in wet season). Overall I would highly recommend...

My wife and I spent our 25th wedding anniversary vacation here in January. We had the most wonderful relaxing week possible. We flew from London to Madrid for a couple of days then on to San Jose and finally Sansa Air to Tambor. Weather was incredible and Tango Mar hotel was divine. Perfect beach, palm trees, hardly anybody on it. Bliss. Food was excellent, and I thought reasonably priced which was good because we hadn't hired a car so we intended to just lay in the hammocks that are tied to the...
