I had two weeks in Rockefeller hotel as solo traveller for vacations and it was a great choice for longer stay. Hotel itself is in safe area and honestly I think the city does not deserve the negative publicity it gets for safety. I walked around both during day time and evenings alone and did not feel threatened. Hotel, its facilities were excellent with friendly staff that went out of their way to be helpful. Restaurant on the other hand was not that spectacular, dined there few times and can’t say it deserved a four star hotel (tried both sushi and pasta and pizza). For no I g around I have used Uber which was super convenient, affordable and max 2 minutes wait to be picked up. Just a comment, would be nice to have a bath robe :)

The hotel itself is very nice but very unsafe outside of the hotel Hotel should consider offering a free breakfast considering the unsafe outside conditions to draw more customers. I would not stay here again becsuse of the safety factor

The Hotel is located on the edge of a CBD and it might not seem safe, however I can assure you that the community protection services are based all over and we do o recommend guests to walk around unattended. I believe this is not unique to Cape Town, but globally a problem. Your suggestion on Free Breakfast is noted, but alas, not viable. I do hope that the memories and experience at the Hotel as well as the location to be transported to most of the Tourism areas will be the driving force behind your consideration to return.Looking forward to welcoming you back.Tania

The rooms are a bit small, and dark. The hotel in general is nice and safe. The gym is decent. Don't walk at night time. You can walk to the waterfront in the day- just stick to the main roads. Otherwise uber is so convenient and comes within minutes.

Disappointing service.
Very nice, central hotel. The staff however needs to be managed better. Our one room was only cleaned 18:00 the one night we stayed there. The Gym was dirty, TV and Aircon in the Gym not set. Doorman upon arrival did not greet us or helped us how the process worked on checking in. While having breakfast in the morning, there are no active waitering staff to help with coffees. When I asked to have a flat White coffee, I was told that I need to pay for it. I paid for a breakfast coffee. The next morning we walked across the road to buy proper coffee atSeattle with good service. This hotel can do so much better.

Unhelpful rude receptiom staff
This could be a great hotel but the reception staff were rude & unprofessional with an "I dont care" attitude - and those are the people you meet first & last. We had a number of request at reception from a few staff but they were unhelpful. I would never stay here again.

We stayed at the rockefeller for a couple of nights. Wwe had nothing but great service, and were well looked after. The room was comfy.i had a bit of a struggle with the shower door, but once i got in, it was divine. The room had everythjng we needed. It was comfy, clean and quiet.

Good Choice for Cape Town
Wonderful hotel, with lovely staff in a great location. All the main sites are accessible via a short taxi ride - some in walking distance. Would love to stay again. The pool on the roof (18th floor) was a big bonus!

Al di là di ogni aspettativa
Una delle mie più belle esperienze in un hotel. Sono arrivato prestissimo con una nave da crociera. La camera non era pronta ma mi hanno fatto accomodare nella hall, offerto un cappuccino e sono venuti a cercarrmi non appena la camera si è liberata. Personale attentissimo e prodigo di consigli. Molto premuroso. Un giorno ero uscito per andare a piedi al waterfroont, il concierge mi ha rincorso fuori dicendomi che era troppo pericoloso e invitandomi a prendere un taxi. Ecceziionale rapporto qualità prezzo. Orrimo il bar, il ristorante e anche lo sky bar al diciottesimo piano. Grande attenzione alla sicurezza. Ogni volta che rientravo c'era qualcuno che mi chiedeva come fosse andata la giornata. Mi hanno persino acquistato il biglietto per la cable car, evitandomi lunghe file in biglietteria. Ma la cosa più incredibile è che un giorno avevo per sbaglio buttato nel cestino della camera una bancanota da 5 euro. La cameriera l'ha vista, ha informato il suo capo che mi ha lasciato un bigliettino sul comodino indicandomi come fare per recuperarla. Senza parole. Camera in ottime condizioni dotata di tutto il necessario, minibar con acqua gratuita, bollitore con tè e caffè, cassaforte, televisore enorme, doccia molto grande. Unica cosa che mancava in bagno, stranamente, la spazzola per pulire il WC. Tornerò sicuramente al Rockefeller se capito nuovamente a Cape Town. Grazie per questa splendida esperienza.

O hotel não fica em um ponto bem localizado para se andar a pé ! Somente de carro dá para fazer as coisas. Não vale a pena pagar o café da manhã . É beeeem simples e não tem variedade nenhuma.
