The Gate Hotel is in a perfect location for the Pyramids & Sphinx! It has a wonderful terrace & rooftop that overlooks the whole area! Delicious food provided at breakfast and a wide range of options for lunch & dinner!
Staff were incredibly friendly & helpful!
Room was very comfortable! We had a windowless room but still had a small window to let some natural light in.
100% recommend staying here!
Loved the Hotel. The view from our room was amazing. Staff was excellent and was always happy to help. They even picked us up from the airport at 3am. Really enjoyed our stay.
Awesome place. Super clean. Friendly staff. Having no elevator was a bit challenging but the staff made up for it by running things up and down. The pyramids view was to die for. It’s like you’re sitting right there between the pyramids and sphinx.
We had an amazing experience right next to the pyramids and the sphinx. The patio dining provided a wondrous view with excellent service and delicious food. The rooms are clean and large with great ac. The front desk service, particularly from Ahmed, was helpful and courteous.
; Working staff there was very kind and the front desk was okay. We enjoyed breakfast.
-; Took long time to get the foods we ordered. Blackout and water-stop happened at the same time in the morning due to roadwork for a couple of hours.
Upon arriving we were warmly welcomed by everyone at this amazing family run hotel.
I booked this hotel for 1 reason, the view but, after the 1st day, it was about so much more than just the view. You will not meet a more dedicated team, people who go out of their way to help and assist, with anything needed.
There's a lot of love here, a lot passion for what they do and they are incredibly well set up.
Our room was utterly amazing for the view alone but the room was also well equipped, clean and very comfortable.
Our stay here was like no other small hotel I've ever been to, a birthday cake, decorations, balloons, were all put out in the room, for our arrival, celebrating my daughters birthday.
The effort and love will never be forgotten and I cannot thank the hotels owner and staff, for all of the effort that was made over the duration of our stay.
Thank you and very much appreciated.
We arrived in the evening from Sphinx airport about a 40 min drive. It was really good journey. We arrived around 11pm with hibiscus drinks by Summer she was very accommodating. The view has to be the best in Giza! You cannot failed to be amazed! We booked our day trip which was very good also. Breakfast is included and very nice too. I cannot recommend this hotel enough to you. The location outside is not advisable to walk around as you will get hasseled , we got Uber everywhere with the help of lovely Sandra and colleagues. The bed was a bit on the hard side, but I would come here again anytime. It’s clean and professional. I hope Cairo good fortune continues - thank you
If you desire to have a view of all seven pyramids and sphinx, unobstructed and directly Infront of you, this is the hotel you want. The rooftop offers a breathtaking and relaxing view. The rooms are clean, with comfortable beds and pillows that ensure a restful night's sleep. Ahmad and his team of beautiful front desk ladies were wonderful.
While there are many hagglers outside the hotel, this is to be expected given its prime location right at the entrance to the pyramids and can be expected anywhere in Egypt at all tourist locations. It didn’t detract from our experience in the slightest. Additionally, I usually book my tours and trips online but I booked the Nile cruise with the front desk for $40 on the “Nile Crystal” and it was a lovely evening with unending entertainment (belly dancers, singing and dancing) and food. I plan on staying here again and I recommend for anyone visiting Egypt!
Good location right in front of the Sphinx and the tickets office make it convenient to get in and out of the Pyramids area without the need for transportation. Staffs are very nice and lovely. The room is good and comfortable. The surrounding areas are safe to walk about at night with all the restaurants and shops that open late. The hotel also has taxi service at fair price. Great overall experience and will definitely stay here again.
The Internet connection did not work at all. We were told that there is no connection around the area although my mobile data was working. Although one of our friends stayed in a different hotel not far from us no Internet connection was impacted in their hotel so we got the point. The Wi-Fi did not work. Plus we did not have any water supply when we checked in as this is a very important matter. You could not flush the toilets or have a shower we were supplied with Nestlé water bottles.

Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
Depends on what you expect, if is the view, it is exceptional you can almost touch the Sphinx. If a 3 star hotel is expected, then it falls very short, I give it only 1star even when I got the best suite.

Water was sometimes not Working but the rest was good. I also dont recomend booking a tour guide through the hotel, they charge way too much.
Do not stay here, we had the balcony room. Absolute nightmare. Aircon is not cold. The hotel is being renovated. Builders were working in room to side of and above till 02.00. Hotel promised this would stop at 22.00 and then in each request said just 10 more minutes. Drilling, banging, etc etc. I understand its too hot to work in the day but not tull 02.00 with guests in rooms where renovations are taking place. If you book this room and it happens thr police will apparently deal with the situation and are seen all round the hotel.
Besides the view- there was nothing good about our stay. Room was on top floor without any elevator. Nobody helped us with our bags...so we had to carry 4 suitcases up several flights of stairs. Then we get to our room and our bathroom sink was clogged. We asked someone to fix the issue.. which they 'said they stopped by & did fix'. However- it was worse afterwards. Sink was clogged with sewer/waste smell coming out...which filled up entire bathroom. We could not even step foot in there. We literally got this room to freshen up & relax... and couldn't even do that.
