While the people were super nice and the hotel was easy to get to, the room was a disaster. Dirty sheets, soil on the bed, stains all over every sheet, comforter and pillow case. Mold in the bathroom, dirty bathtub, no hot water. Tried to leave and get another room but there unfortunately weren't any available.
Not recommended at all. Avoid!!!!
Shabby banquet service, poorly prepared for large wedding groups and service suffered. No elevator for 2nd floor. Food was poorly prepared and presented.
I found the Hotel at Mckinley very convenient to local shops and plans for Buffalo event wehn all other Hotels were booked. Turned out to be a great choice. Very friendly atmosphere!
We booked this hotel because we were going to a nearby party and were guaranteed shuttle service within 5 miles. The desk clerk says they do not now and never have had shuttle service. ($40 cab fares as a result). Hotel is old, in need of rehab and overpriced. Most other guests were long term constructin workers....overall, not recommended!

Liked: Room comfort
A good motel for attending a Bills game
Hotel was OK. Location was good for what we wanted
Great location, good neighborhood, close to restaurants and shopping. Very disappointing to find it outdated and not as clean as one would expect! Staff was nice to work with, but in checking out several people were there to explain the many malfunctions in their rooms.
This hotel is in a good location if you're in a pinch to find a hotel nearby for a quick overnight stay. But if you're looking for a good, clean, quality place for a vacation, this is not the hotel for you.
This place was probably very nice 25 years ago but no longer. The hotel website is deceiving. The only picture on it that I could tell that was actually taken at the hotel, was the gazebo.
There is no bar or Club Paradise, it's all closed up.
The bathtub was peeling paint and the bathroom was very tiny. The television worked sporadically. There is no elevator, so becareful if you have bad knees. The hallways & stairwell were not vacuumed at all. The wireless internet didn't reach our room.
Overall, the the lobby and outside have a rundown feel. Upon check-in, the front desk person gave me someone else's room - twice. Finally on the 3rd try, they gave me a room that was unoccupied. At checkout, they gave me someone else's bill.
However, the rooms were big and the beds were clean and surprisingly comfortable though. And the breakfast was decent.

The hotel shows its age. The water facuets were not easy to adjust and we could not get the water warm enough.
The rooms are not very clean. There was mildew on the shower curtain. The beds were not made up during the day while we were out. The overall experience was not at all pleasant. There was only one motel I've stayed in that was worse and it should have been condemned but circumstances forced the stay.
When I arrived the room, it was extremely hot. they did not run the AC before arrival. In short the room was not ready. When I started the AC, it was not working. So could not sleep properly. It's worst experience of my life.
When arriving at hotel entry into rear stairwell appesred not to have been
vacuumed in several days. When entering room floor found not to have been
vacuumed since last occupant. Two spiders on ceiling.
Overall, room was showing its age.
The bed sheets were clean. Bathroom was clean.
Overall the experience was not as pleasant as expected.
My overall experience at this hotel was a good one. The staff was wonderful and friendly and I loved the fact that the entire hotel was a smoke free environment. There were only two things that I did not like. One was that the air in the room was an older unit and therefore did not cool the room efficiently. The other was no elevator however, I knew this going in. Other than that It is a well kept clean hotel with friendly people.
Many years ago this hotel was considered the Taj Mahal of the southtowns. We were booked for a week but only stayed one night.
The room had a musty/moldy smell, there was rust around the tub drain, mold on the tub mat, and we couldn't get hot water to bathe in the morning. One of the rooms looked like a crow bar was used to open it..
Large rooms, a fridge, microwave and coffee maker are convenient but not that convenient. We surely will not stay there again..
My husband & I have driven by the McKinley Hotel, Banquet, & Conference Center several times and we've always thought it looked like a decent place. Therefore, we didn't think we had to do our homework and read any of the reviews before booking a room, but we were wrong.
When arriving at the McKinley Hotel, Banquet, & Conference Center, we didn't realize that the hotel part is actually a big old brown building attached to the very back of the facility (barely visible from the road and hard to locate). At first, we assumed we just had to enter the main entrance of the facility to locate the hotel, but it was quite the maze. When we finally located the entrance to the actual hotel 15 minutes later, we checked in and our hotel door would not even open. We eventually found out that the desk clerk had given us the wrong key. The hotel, and especially our room itself, had a very musty/damp smell to it. There was absolutely no warm water, so we had no choice but to take a cold shower in the morning if we wanted to be clean. Plus, you had to really pull on the sink handle if you wanted any water to come out. I was happy about the fact that our room had a coffee maker in it, but when I went to use it, it had a dirty, damp, used coffee filter in it still. Plus, there were no cups to pour the coffee into unless you wanted to drink straight from the pot.
The best part...right before we were going to leave, my husband dropped something on the floor. When he went to pick it up, he noticed some unmarked pills under the bed with an opened, half-full can of beer (yes, with beer still in it). Obviously, there is limited housekeeping in this hotel. And the torn-up curtains were a nice touch too. Upon our departure, we were never asked how our stay was.
I have booked total 7 rooms with two queen bed in McKinley hotel for my Niagara trip. But before I stayed there, I was worried about negative reviews about the hotel. Now, I would say Don't look at previous reviews. My stay was on 29-30 May.
Proc:
- Room is very nice and in clean condition.
- Few out of 7 rooms have refrigerator, Iron and microwave. all room has TV and coffee maker.
- Breakfast is decent
- Bed is very confortable.
- You can find mall and shopping center very
nearby.
- less price
Cons:
- Hotel location is far from Nigara fall.
- Room service is OK
En general el hotel presta un buen servicio. Solo que en la noche atiende una tipa neurótica que nos torcio el hocico cuando le solicitamos ayuda para hacer una llamada de larga distancia y no tiene paciencia para entender tu poco ingles.
Let me start with something positive. The breakfast was better than most. The room had a mouldy smell. There were ants crawling on the walls which eventually ended up on our pillows. We had to sleep with our heads at the bottom of the bed. The carpet was filthy! It was not sanitary to have the coffee maker in the bathroom. The online photos do not give a true sense of what you can expect.
We paid a good amount for 2 rooms. When we went there there was a musty odor to the room. There was unemptied coffee in the coffee maker. Carpets needed change. There was a spider, rather big in one of the rooms, which we had to kill. Door always seemed ajar even when closed shut...kind of loose. The breakfast was ok and filling. Overall for the price paid, I won't stay there again.
This room had some clear signs of dust accumulation that shows it hasn't been cleaned for a while. The smell of the rooms, the lobby and the whole hotel was bad. It was like the smell of a really old room that has been closed for years.
The outside of the hotel was in a bad condition. The paint was peeling in a lot of places and the rest looks like antique.
The price was acceptable considering it was a Saturday and they had an event around the area. But overall, it wasn't such a good experience.
