Unfortunately it was quite hot due to it being on the second floor and after a string of hotter than usual days, not helped by the fact that the heated towel rail (from the hot water system) couldn't be shut off. "Start off with the reception when we arrived, she wasn’t welcoming at all very rigid and unhelpful as she directed on two occasions to the wrong location (our room and the spa) The room was very dated and the bed was too small for two adults and the pillows very uncomfortable. As for the spa (we had booked a treatment) staff were also not welcoming, had to wait a long time to get seen . Could hear all noises from the outside during the treatment which wasn’t very pleasant. Staff in general are very cold and withdrawn. Something you don’t expect when you come for weekend night away. Will not be booking at the imperial again. "
