I was more than happy with my stay. The room was large, clean and nicely decorated. The beds were very comfortable. It had everything that we needed for our one night stay. The receptionist was helpful, polite and accommodating. The location was perfect. I would definitely stay here again.
I booked before reading the reviews and in my 2-night experience it was no way as bad as the reviews would make you believe. I was dreading my stay but its a great location, good value for money, not too noisy, rooms were clean and modern and staff were friendly. My only grumble is that both lifts were out of action.
Was a great value Sunday night booking just for a base. And such good value for money I don’t really want to complain about anything. But one thing I will say is the basic double - the bed was smaller than a standard double, and the spring coil mattress… I hardly slept. Could feel the hard spring coils. Could easily be remedied with a mattress topper.
I had a wonderful stay at the Grand Bristol. As a first time traveller to Europe, having stayed in busy London hotels, I was quite impressed by the relative size of the room. All of the different staff from booking, through check in and check out were so warm and hospitable. I would definitely stay here again. Further, the building was immaculately maintained for a rustic (intentionally rustic) spot. The caretakers of this property known exactly what they are doing and are maintaining this spot as it should be. Thank you! Absolute gem of a hotel, strongly recommend.

Bristol Grand Hotel is OK, but it certainly doesn't feel as if it's really a 4* hotel.
It's very well placed and does have the benefit of parking next door, although the car park was pretty dirty and unpleasant.
The hotel looks good from the outside, but the stairs had not been hoovered and looked dirty. The standard double room was pretty basic (compared to say, a Premier Inn) but had a full sized bath. The room was clean, but the carpet was threadbare in places and the bed was not very comfortable.
The staff (reception and bar) were pretty good and because the lifts were out of order (a problem for some guests), they did offer us free parking which saved £19. This gesture was appreciated.
Above all though, the hotel has a "tired" feel, but it's not overly expensive and is reasonably central.
Beautiful old building. Fantastic location, convenient for citycentre, covered market, canals, buses..
Genuinely friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent indian food in the bar, good value
Old, run down, noisy, small, cold 'cooked' breakfast. U have to pay £9 per day for 'clear air zone' (not the fault of the hotel, just a foolish swindle from local council which means we'll never come back to bristol again. Staff were nice. Good location, if youre not dri ing there.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Excellent area close to restaurants , Bristol beacon , st nicks market , clean room , nice bar
Only stayed for one night and didn't have breakfast there but the room was lovely. It was during the hot spell so the room was nicely air conditioned on arrival. Had a bath which is a major plus for me and a hair dryer, iron/ironing board and safe amongst the usual things. Would stay again and would recommend
Bristol Grand, was grand. Now I'd call it Bristol Average (sans food).
The decor and general cleanliness is a bit less than you might expect for the price. Though the shower etc., were good, towels a little worn.
Staff try their best.
The big let down is the restaurant which turns into a ghastly Indian restaurant at night. Breakfast is weak and stale. Ended up eating at Hurt's 100 yards down the road, excellent menu and atmosphere at much the same price.
The car parking is a nightmare for modern cars. A tight fit for access, parking bays, and its easier to get out of the car at ticket machines than try and reach them
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Using the multi storey next door was pretty easy and my car felt secure. A good central Bristol location. The room had a comfortable bed and the shower was nice and powerful. Generally I had a more than adequate stay and would stay again if visiting Bristol 👍
The staff were most helpful and I liked the decor of the hotel and bedroom. Different and contemporary. The bed was comfortable and had a good night sleep.
I’d definitely go again if I ever go back to Bristol
Had a lovely stay in a well appointed room with great air con! It was 32 degrees outside so well needed! Nice bathroom with walk in shower. Everything was immaculately clean. Room very quiet.
