"We stayed for a wedding just outside of the village and it was just perfect. The lady on reception last Saturday (17thOct) in the afternoon /evening was great, so informative and took our photo no problem. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back. The radio in the room was also a nice touch instead of a tv. Thank you."

"Plenty of parking at the rear of the pub for guest, which was great as there isn’t any parking on the Main Street. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice."

"Completely detached barn. Very warm despite the weather being awful. Easy to find. Lovely layout. Had everything we needed and location was excellent , between Oakhampton and Tavistock. Very powerful shower and comfy couches and bed. Great size private garden but pity we couldnt sit out much but still very enjoyable"

The Blue Lion is ideally situated for a stop over when making a long journey to Cornwall. The room was well equipped and comfortable. There is some traffic noise from the road, but that did not spoil our one night stay. The staff were welcoming and the locals were friendly. The evening meal was excellent. I would stay here again if travelling in this area.

Our new favourite place, absolutely faultless. Food is exceptional, a significant step up from your normal pub grub. Our little pooch was also made to feel incredibly welcome and even served with her own little platter of treats. A beautifully clean and well presented restaurant experience that welcomes anyone whether it be special celebrations or a party of hikers that have just conquered Dartmoor. 100% we will be back and bringing friends and family.

A stunning historic building surrounded by gorgeous gardens, it has all the charm you'd hope for from a proper country inn. What really makes it special, though, is the wonderful team – warm, welcoming and genuinely friendly from the moment you arrive. A beautiful hotel set in lovely gardens on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. Friendly, attentive and helpful staff. Very good standard of food. The classic room we stayed in was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Perfect for a relaxing break once you have negotiated the 1.5 mile single track road to the hotel!

This is the most fabulous hotel. The buildings from 1810 arranged around the courtyard are beautiful. The staff are all true professionals, courteous, helpful, knowledgeable, all with a smile.
Our room was lovely with a view down to the Tamar and beautifully presented.
Now to the dining where do you start? The food was I think the best we have ever eaten. The menu was a complete gastronomic experience from breakfast to dinner.
We will definitely return.
