" Ideal overnight whilst attending a function"

"I stayed at Applewood for only 2 nights, but I couldn't have picked a better spot. Easy walking distance to the centre of town, 15 minutes to the Pavilion, the Wheel and the Pier. Local bus access to Boscombe, and Christchurch. The room, though small was perfect for a short stay unlike other short stay where I could hardly get in the shower, Applewood is well designed to make a small space feel bigger. I wasn't driving but there seemed to be ample guest parking. I didn't eat at the Hotel but the restaurant and bar looked very nice and welcoming. The only difficulty was, I arrived early in the day and couldn't get in the hotel, I rang the buzzer but there was no answer, so I waited. Another couple arrived who also rang the bell, after a short wait someone did come to the door and we were allowed to leave our bags, a small inconvenience for a great stay, Would definitely choose Applewood again. "

"No did not get a beach view ,although room was clean, staff are very helpful outer side badly needing painting and smartning up, no food at this hotel u have to go next door to the Carleton hotel. Fire alarm went off late thursday night but it was ok maybe a bug in the sensory thing in the rooms? Noisy people next door to me doors banging loud conversation so not much sleep had!"

"Such a brilliant hotel. Staff were wonderful and couldn’t be more helpful. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and it was superb. Will definitely be visiting again!"

"Swapped out sea view room, sadly, but hotel had an old world charm and the hottest swimming pool I've ever been in. That's not necessarily a good thing unless you're someone that doesn't want to swim and then you're fine. Staff were warm and welcoming, lots of flash cars on the driveway. Really liked the look of the rooms by the pool. Breakfast was a bit busy and staff a little frazzled but pleasant. The wallpaper in the bar was amazing. Wonderful location, the higher the floor the better - if you're put on the first floor (like us) and not given the room you're booked, then you're clearly not an A-lister... :-). Room was wonderful."

"Nice room, easy to operate shower, very quiet, friendly staff. Didn't have breakfast, so can't comment on that. But excellent value and would definitely recommend and stay here again. "

"The hotel was comfy, clean and close to local amenities. Staff were friendly and happy to help with any queries. Breakfast was lovely with a nice selection of food. Room was cosy and everything needed to make the stay enjoyable e.g. fast wifi, hairdryer, iron etc. Would stay here again :-)"

"the hotel had changed ownership a few months ago. my room on the second floor was spacious and a bit of a view of the beach. had I been on a higher floor with had a better view! english breakfast was made to order, the location an easy walk to the pier and the beach. the hotel is quaint. no air conditioning but with two open windows and two fans in the room, for May it was quite comfortable. the roommate padded bench and small desk, an armoire, a small sofa, and a high bath tub. great place to stay for a few nights visit."
