"We spoilt ourselves with 2 nights in Ahas Pokuna. This is a truly special place. Greeted at the road side by Arun our naturalist guide we were immediately enveloped in the forest following a footpath (truly the only access) leading us up the the very exclusive camp. We were the only guest and had the middle of three tent suites/tree houses. The beautifully maintained grounds of the camp are full of birds and the staff are always attentive. The food is excellent and plentiful. Arun was delightful...

"+++ Absolutely magnificent place with a wonderful history. The wooden features are beautiful and the bedrooms are outstanding. Wonderful snooker table and fireplaces. Lovely garden where you can sit and enjoy afternoon tea. The staff, especially Sameera, were absolutely excellent- they couldn’t do enough for us. "La Pentera is a new property which has a unique concept of a tree house. The property is quite far from the Udawalawe National Park - about 30 km or so. The directions are also unclear, even if you use googlemaps. The property is new and in great condition. However, there are things that could be better, especially the food. The bathroom has hot water though there is some water leakage. A great experience stay but could be better."
