"Even though hotel is not in downtown or city center, paying for parking per night per car is unnecessary. Stayed for 5 nights with family of 4. Sofa bed was torn and deformed. Spoke to hotel front desk and was told to talk to Expedia as it was booked through them. Spoke to Expedia requesting room change, but did not receive any help from either hotel staff or Expedia staff. Even though the reservation was for 4 guest. I had to go ask for extra towels every single day (except on the check out day). If they care about number of guest, when should we disclose while booking? Or they expected that not everyone would shower daily? Makes no sense. Also body wash was not provided and when asked they handed over shampoo and told me that it will be refilled by house keeping. But when we came back late at night, it was still empty. Had to go to front desk again and ask for body wash. Finally on the day of checkout, I was checked out at 9 am overthought it was supposed to be 11 am as per booking confirmation. Had to go back to front desk yet again to new keys. These are few examples or many such ordeals. Pathetic hotel and a disgrace for the brand name “Marriott”"

"The staff at Sonesta was fantastic! Everyone was friendly and welcoming and even though we were a bit early, our room was ready and we were able to check in and relax. When it was time for us to leave, we had a late flight, but we were able to check our bags with the valet/concierge and walk around the pier and boardwalk until it was time to go to the airport. Our room was comfortable and nicely updated. Plenty of outlets and charging ports without having to crawl behind or underneath furniture (I know...sounds silly, but now that absolutely everything needs a charger, it's a big deal!) The lobby and bar always had good energy and friendly people. At night we enjoyed sitting on the little balcony and listening to the seals in the harbor. The location is convenient to get anywhere, but enough off the piers to be peaceful and quiet. Several airlines must have contracts for rooms for their staff for layovers. There was always a steady stream of pilots and flight crews coming and going. Trust where the professionals go... The only part that wasn't 5 stars was the pool. It seems a bit overlooked and neglected. It is on the second floor, so it can't be a huge pool (water is too heavy for that), but there could be more done to make the very large, open concrete deck more inviting. All in all, definitely a good stay."

"The location was beautiful, with a walking and bike path right outside the balcony, which was great for easy access to the marina and outdoor activities. However, our room was on sea level, and there was very little privacy since people were constantly passing by just outside. If you’re booking a suite with the tub, I would definitely recommend requesting a second-floor room for a more private and enjoyable experience."
