"This historic building has been beautifully restored, congratulations! The Old Abbey House is in a perfect location in the centre of Abingdon. Our room was a deluxe king suite (garden view) and was faultless. Thoughtfully designed, spacious with a separate seating and kitchen area making for a very comfortable stay. Check-in was very straightforward."

"Don't expect to stay in the main house, you will most likely be allocated a double room in the garden wing. This though not externally impressive is similar to a Premier Inn in layout internally. All staff are very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was okay, can be busy so you may need to queue in line. Restaurant i can't comment on as this we didn't use, bar snacks available from the bar"

"LOVED IT! If you want to experience English inns, stay here. Beautiful, peaceful, albeit very European with the room configuration and bathroom setups, but a very fair trade off for the environment. That is actually one of the reasons I chose it, reliving childhood experiences of quaint English inns. Beautiful, peaceful and affordable. Right near Bibury Trout Farm & the Cotswolds or, I suggest the small village of Carterton for a nice slice of pizza."

"The hotel is very tired and needs updating, however it was clean, comfortable and the staff were lovely. The food was excellent even though it was only myself and my wife who ate in the dinning room whilst we were there. The hotel does takeaway food and there was a steady stream of cars coming in to pick up meals which is a testament to the quality. The position of the hotel was great for our needs. It is outside of Oxford but transport links are very good. We are in the process of looking for property in the area and we would have no worries about staying there again whilst we are looking, and will go back there to eat once we have found a place to move to."
