"Crystal Beach has many great points to note: It's on the quiet end of the boardwalk. It's steps from the beach. The rooms are clean. Beds are relatively comfortable. Pillows are great. A/C works well. Rooms in the "Boardwalk Building" have kitchenettes with small kitchen sinks, coffee maker, microwave, hip-height fridge and a counter top (no stove top). Ice machines work. The property has two pools, a gym, and a poolside bar.
What they don't tell you: There is now an (approximately) $12/day parking fee that's not posted on 3rd party vendor sites. Unlike some of the other hotels with kitchenettes, there are no dishes, glasses, or flatware in any of the cupboards, so you'll have to bring your own. It's not a big deal, but just know that up front. When they say "City view," you could actually be looking at the side of the next building or the parking garage, not the bay. (We spent the whole day on the beach, so we didn't care.) No safes are provided in the rooms.
Finally, shortly after check in, we had an issue with our toilet not working. Although they worked on it, the problem returned later that night. I called the front desk, but by then, maintenance had gone home. I asked for a new room. "We'll work on that." We went to bed. I awoke at 4:30 am and had to walk across a parking lot to use the poolside restroom. Finally at 5:00 a.m. we moved to a smaller but nicer room. Supposedly no amt. of refund because we used a 3rd party vendor. I would however still stay here again."
