"High Ridge is perfectly situated right in the middle of Ambleside. However, it really does need some TLC. There are damp patches on the walls , the bed linen is rather questionable, & the window blinds are just simply dreadful . They let light in, don’t work properly & are very tatty indeed.
The furnishings are of poor quality & there are just far too many dreadful pictures on the walls.
The kitchen & bathroom are good but the rest of the property needs a jolly good face lift . Having said...

"One of the best B&B's I have ever stayed, helpful, friendly with nothing too much trouble. Bed/bathroom bright, clean & modern. Unusual in B&B's there were 2 comfortable lounges and honesty bar. Breakfast was outstanding and my only negative, the parking was tight & needed care. Property close to town and lake. Gg"

The room was very comfortable with a big high bed.
Trevor, Karen, Zoe and Carol were very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble
The hospitality tray was well received.
Parking was excellent alongside the hotel.
The hotel was ideally placed, minutes from the town centre , shops, restaurants etc
The only down side, I appreciate due to the age of the building, there was no lift which would have been helpful carrying our luggage up and down the stairs to the second floor. However this would not stop us staying at this great hotel in the future.

"Ambleside was our favorite place visited in England. Beautiful place. The hotel is right next to a fabulous church. Lots of places to walk, shop or eat. Staff was so very nice and the included breakfast was extremely good. I recommend this hotel most strongly. Just awesome."
