"We had Room 1 with the 4 poster bed. Very cozy and individual. Love the thick mattress! Pleasant surprise of a live Irish band on in the bar when we arrived and it was a full house with a great atmosphere 😊 We ordered food and wow it was outstanding. We had lamb burger with chips and homemade coleslaw and chicken burger. All meat is locally source from nearby farm. And a chocolate and caramel cheesecake which was divine and beautifully presented. Our server was Kylie who was very attentive and friendly and definitely deserved our tip at the end. The manager (don’t know his name) was also a delightful friendly person making us feel very welcome and proud of his establishment. The property is on the Main Street so very convenient to all other pubs and lovely boutique shops and the river for lovely walks. A visit to Tanners wine and whiskey shop was 2 mins walk down the bank. We have no hesitation in recommending this place and will return here when we next visit Shrewsbury. "

"Hole in bath towel- and the one it was replaced with. Poor communication with spa. Tried to book a massage on 2 occasions in week preceding stay. It went to ansafone saying to leave a message and they would get back.. They never did and no massages available when we tried again on arrival. Tea/ coffee/milk not refilled in room. Other issues too. On plus side they did try and recify and on departure decreased cost paid for room."

"Room was clean and had everything we needed but unfortunately the single bed for our daughter had a very uncomfortable mattress. Other than that no problems and good value for money - would stay here again. "

"I booked 3 rooms in total as visiting an event, the first two rooms were booked as twin rooms and my room was booked as a double, when I arrived the reception said all 3 rooms were twins which I disagreed with but had no option but to take the room. thankfully this was away from the function room that was hosting a wedding, unfortunately the other two rooms I did book where right above the function room and the walls were bouncing. The hotel had not informed us of this function or I would have requested quiet rooms. Only the bar was open for food and it was a very limited menu (burger or pizza) due to the wedding. Overall I was not impressed on the staff attitude - receptionist and not being advised of the wedding prior to our arrival. I travel a lot and most hotels will advise if there is a function on so you can ask for a quiet room."

"Staff were very helpful. The hotel is not as advertised on the website. It is tired and needs some tlc. Bed sheets were stained so need new ones buying. "

"A lovely little stay- with hotel rooms situated above the restaurant. Our room was small, clean and comfortable. We booked in the restaurant downstairs and we're so glad we did. The food was FANTASTIC. We would recommend booking a table. We also managed to park in the restaurant car park which was free. The staff were lovely. It was a very reasonable hotel rate too. "
