"We really enjoyed our quick stay at The Orchid Retreat in Agra, India! I was surprised how close we were staying to the Taj Mahal, as we were able to walk there to get in line & buy tickets in advance online. The staff were so timely, friendly, & helpful with Taj arrangements and information. The rooms were well maintained and cleaned nicely. The food was very nice. "First day of the stay we encountered with electricity problem. Whole night there was no electricity. Second day we asked them to change the room and in the second room door bell was not working and our telephones too. But we called them and have phones fixed. Communication was good and respectful but we encountered problems about the rooms "

"Any five-star review is fake. This was the worst "hotel" we stayed at in all of India. Do NOT believe the photos of the nice rooms - they don't exist. Only filthy, smokey rooms falling apart. No wifi, far from the city and completely fake advertisement. Stay far, far away from this establishment. "

"Room was in a building different than described on Expedia. Loud road noise. No top sheet, just a dirty old comforter that smelled and may not have been washed. Owner wouldn’t allow the A/C to be turned on. Shower is between toilet and sink so bathroom is always slippery. "

"Booked this hotel as it was near the Taj Mahal and had a restaurant, roof top bar and pool. Booked for family of four over Xmas period. On arrival staff were polite but appeared at a loss that they had guest booking in. We quickly found out that the restaurant was not in working order and the pool and roof bar were also not usable. The hotel was unclean and appeared to be still in construction with boarding still up blocking doorways. We had two rooms, both freezing cold and no heaters. Both...
