Shantaa is the most peaceful place i have been in thailand - its very private and even when the resort is fully booked it seems like there is four of five times more space than required. This makes it very special and magical - the staff are excellent and the food is also great ! Beds are super comfortable and the servive is perfect . Shantaa is a perfect place for people who are looking to escape life and find true tranquility for a moment - be careful though you might never want to leave !!

Location is ideal, on a beautiful bay/beach. Short walk to restaurants and bars (low key). We had a beachfront villa- highly recommended. The villas are well equipped with a huge shower but are a bit tired around the edges (as it seems a lot of resorts are in Koh Kood). The staff are excellent and very helpful. Beautiful location with an exclusive feel. Bungalow 5 offered a fantastic vista. Everybody working on site was happy, welcoming and friendly (including Coco, Oreo, Lazy and Day the dogs (maybe that's just Thailand)). The breakfast was lovely, fluffiest pancakes I've ever had! The sea view villas are very quiet and private, though the sea view is somewhat blocked by trees, and there is no sand so don't expect a beach view. Still a pretty setting beside the ocean, nice for relaxing. Minimalistic style rooms, well layed out and have everything you need. Excellent service, especially in the restaurant and the breakfasts are delicious and beautifully presented. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Would recommend, especially for couples.

Over the past decade we have stayed in dozens hotels and resorts in Thailand but this place stands out for cleanliness and how helpful and friendly every single staff member has been during our stay. The pool and beach are being kept immaculately clean, there is free use of paddle boards and beach chairs and for a fee you can get a massage on the beach. We recently had an excellent stay at Captain Hook Resort. Nestled in a secluded spot away from other hotels, it offers a peaceful, green, and idyllic atmosphere perfect for relaxation. Whether you're into kayaking, snorkelling, or simply enjoying the usual beach activities, this hotel provides the ideal setting. The staff is incredibly attentive, and the management is always on hand to ensure guests are well taken care of. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and highly recommended!

The owners of this resort are very friendly and offer a great service. They helped out with booking trips, taxis etc. One evening we all went together with other guests in the resort for dinner and was a great night. The breakfasts are also great. The rooms were clean. Absolutely no insects or bugs during my stay of 7 nights. Scooters available for rent at the resort which is always handy. Cant find any issues. Just note this is on the quieter side of the island so more suited to people...
