Good central location in Salzburg.
Stayed in standard room which we found to be constantly hot and ensuite to be extremely small and awkward to use- Room No.301 to be avoided.Told by receptionist that all standard rooms are similar,would suggest superior room necessary for comfort.

Great location in the old city
The Hotel Elefant is in a great location in the old city. We stayed one night, and it was the perfect place for us. We enjoyed walking the streets, hiking up to the amazing views on the ridge/mountain above the old city, visiting churches and museums, and eating delicious food. The room was comfortable and snug, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was so delicious. They showed us how to catch the bus to the airport at the end of our stay.

Great location in the old city.
I was in room 505 which faces the front of the hotel and the street. I can see that it might be noisy during peak tourist season, but it did have air conditioning which could off set any noise. I was there end of June and it was fine. Only complaint - the bed was too soft and the pillow too hard. Recommend that they change them.

Excellent hotel in the heart of the old town
This is an excellent hotel in the heart of the old town but also very close to the river and easy to get to the other side of the city. We had a superior room that was large and also had a sofa as well as a large bed. The bathroom was large too. Although the room was only on the 2nd floor and facing the road it was very quiet. The air con was a bonus too. The staff were all excellent and very friendly and helpful. My only minor critisism was that the hot food at breakfast was often only lukewarm but generally the breakfast was ok. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

Nice but disappointing
No Wifi in room. In most categories this is a wondrful hotel, with good location and staff. However, when I travel I don't want to sit in the hallway or lobby to get the connected to the Internet.

Charming hotel excellent location
Everything was wonderful. The room was spacious and the extra pull out sofa bed was convenient. The breakfast was delicious and the staff and dining area was lovely. I hope I get a chance to return some day.

Great find in Salzburg!
Booked thie Hotel Elefant in Salzburg and was very pleased with the hotel. The location is excellent, right in the center of the old city in the foot traffic only area. The Hotel is nice and the view from our room was great-a very nice view of the Salzburg Castle. The breakfast was very good. If you are arriving by car, it is a few block walk to the nearest parking garage. We took the long route on arrival, not knowing the way very well, as Salzburg streets in the area surrounding the hotel are currently under construction, I will plan to stay here again on my next visit to Salzburg.

Changed Plans to Stay Longer
Initially I was annoyed that it was so hard to get into this hotel from the parking lot. (It's longer than the 5 mins, especially when you drag roller luggage over cobblestone.) However, once you arrive it's all worth it. The hotel is charming and fashionable, clean and comfortable, and is in a perfect location. I appreciated all the little extras worked in the furnishings of the rooms; side tables with reading lamps, hidden drawers, etc... Even the hallways were well decorated and comfortable! Two choices for inhouse restaurants. The only other negative was that in my room the internet connection wasn't fantastic.

Great for a 6 night stay
Location was superb...great breakfast...Max in the dinner bar was friendly and helpful...front desk helped with suggestions on where to go and made bookings for us. We would stay here again if in Salzburg!

Fantastic location. Room a bit small but adequate and very comfortable. We had a room at the back of the hotel which was very quiet and had a great sleep in a comfy bed. Breakfast was very good with a good selection of continental and hot food such as scrambled egg, bacon and sausages. Staff very attentive.

Pros: Great location Nice breakfast Cons: We arrived there 1.5 hours early for the 1:30 pm Sound of the Music Tour. We asked to check in our luggage since the room was not available. The front desk staff just ask you to leave your luggage in the hallway near the stairs. I do not feel comfortable leaving my luggage just sitting out there. Usually hotels would take your luggage to the back for storage and give you a number. There should be a ramp for seniors and heavy luggage at the entrance instead of steps.

This hotel is ideally located for exploring Salzburg and provides comfortable, clean, friendly accommodation but does not provide, in my opinion the 4 Star facilities that could normally be expected.

A lovely hotel in the old town of Salzburg.
We arrived on a Sunday morning due to an early flight . Hotel receptionist stored our luggage and checked us in and said our room would be ready at 3pm. We were ok with that . Went and had a lovely lunch in the Hotel restaurant .Our room was larger than expected , with a King size bed and a nice area for sitting. With 2 armchairs,a small round table ,2 armchairs ,the usual desk area, chair, TV and mini bar. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choices . All staff were welcoming and helpful ,we were acknowledged always in and around the hotel. Would certainly stay here again .

Location of hotel in the old town was great, but the room was a little too compact and there was a lot of noise from local road work. If we came again we would probably stay on the other side of the river.

Great Location, clean hotel
Very nice hotel. Some rooms are a little small, but comfortable. Good restaurant at the hotel. This is in the middle of downtown.

Great location. Simple but good service and clean room. I think the internet solution is not so good, since it blocks several applications that everyone uses nowadays in their phone and laptops. Other than that, I think it's a great deal for the price.

Right in the middle of Salzburg
This is a lovely hotel right in the middle of Salzburg. We arrived by taxi which was easy and didn't cost much. Ideal place to see Salzburg. The hotel has very friendly staff, the girl at the front desk is lovely and very helpful. Rooms are well appointed and the breakfast room was lovely. A refined homely feel. There was more to do around Salzburg than we planned, we were there 3 days but could have had 2 more easily. Salzburg has such a beautiful feel to it. A trip out to the lakes is a lovely day too. We will be back and will be staying here again.

Elefant Hotel, Central to the Old Town.
Rooms are very quiet, and are as warm as you want them to be. Very clean hotel, and staff are very helpful too. 15mins to airport by taxi

We are traveling around Europe and this has been one of our favorite places! The location is unbeatable-right on a street out of a storybook. And the staff is extremely helpful- especially Juute. I am a bit finicky but I loved our stay at a Hotel Elefant!

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Fantastic location right in the heart of the old town and within walking distance of most places. Good breakfast included in the( reasonable) price with a wide choice of hot and cold foods. Rooms very spacious and clean. We would definitely stay here again if we go back to Salzburg.

Excellent city centre hotel.
We were impressed with the friendly helpful staff from the moment we entered the hotel. Whenever we asked the reception staff for advice about the city, nothing was too much trouble. They gave us maps and bus times which made it easy to see what we wanted to see. The superior room was spacious with a large comfortable bed and good furniture. The bathroom was well appointed with a bath and good hot shower. The buffet style breakfast was one of the best we have had with a really wide range of food including hot eggs and bacon [essential for us Brits] The restaurant attached to the hotel, although independently managed, had the same high standards and was good value for money.

We visited the Christmas markets and the historic sights. Hotel Elefant is in a great location to see all of these. Staff were very helpful and made us very welcome.

Lovely central hotel
Lovely small hotel right in the centre of the old town. Room on the small size but this is an ancient house! Staff are very helpful.Has a good basement bar with quick snacks for late evening. The restaurant is less successful- there are better versions elsewhere. WIFI is a disaster.

Great hotel in old city. 15 minutes and 15 euro by taxi from airport. Easy access to everything in this beautiful city. Room was small but bathroom a bit too small. Mattress was very comfortable. Breakfast was great but limited hot food which wasn't a problem as so much other stuff. Restaurant was very good for dinner. Great atmosphere and staff very good. Overall a good hotel but we wouldn't stay again unless we had a bigger room

Great Old Town Hotel
Great location for small hotel in the center of Old Town. Everything is only a short stroll from the hotel including a bridge to new town to visit its shops and restaurants. Staff was polite, friendly, and helpful with rental car and restaurant reservations. Breakfast was substantial and rooms were larger than most we have encountered in small boutique hotels in the city centers. We highly recommend the Hotel Elefant.

The room and hotel were wonderful. Breakfast was amazing. The front desk staff were not very helpful and we were given incorrect information with regards to the parking rate and how to pay for it.

Great Place in Salzburg
An amazing hotel, with a great bar downstairs. The breakfast was included and was good as well. Parking was discounted, but you need to stay in the public parking garage (mountain parking garage) and walk. Each floor has antiques in the elevator lobby which added to the great ambiance. Bathrooms are updated and clean.

Wonderful boutique hotel in fantastic location
Location could not be better, the executive room we were in was large and comfortable enough for a coue with a child. Very clean, spacious and nicely appointed. For a location in the heart of old town, it was very quiet as well. I only wish their bar restaurant - which was very charming - did not allow smoking. I also wish wifi had slightly better wifi range in our room (we were on the top floor and it wasn't great). A very minor issue. I would definitely return and recommend it highly.
