"Very nice hotel in a great location"
We stayed 5 nights at the Mermoz at the end of March 2014. The location of the hotel is excellent, just two blocks from the Champ de Elysees. But, better than that, it is very close to several Metro stations. You can get virtually anywhere in the city on the metro. The hotel was very nice, very clean, and the room sizes are good. Some people have commented on small room sizes but, for Europe, I think the Mermoz is very generous. Basically the rooms are the same as what you would find in the U.S. Besides, you are in the most beautiful city in Europe, so what are you doing in your hotel room? One thing to note is that you can get a nice glass of wine and relax in the guest area just off the lobby. The area isn't huge but it is comfortable. We had the breakfast included in our room. While not huge, the breakfast is sufficient, and you don't have to go out in search of a place to eat. We had eggs, sausage, crossants, and various pasteries. We also got a pitcher of coffee! Very nice. The staff was great, more than happy to help out recommending sites to visit and places to eat. Note, that if you stay at the Mermoz, be sure to walk over to Rue de Roosevelt and check out Le Bistro du 28. Great place to eat and the most friendly staff. Also, in the vicinity of the Mermoz are patisseires at either end of the street. We thought that the street was a bit noisy on Saturday night (our room faced the street), but other than that one night, it was very quiet.
