The beach was the best part!
Our stay was decent, nothing to brag about. We entered the room & it smelled of cigarettes. I'm not a smoker so it irritated me. We'd smell it often so I assumed it was coming from the vents from our neighbors. After a few days there the water heater tray overflowed into our room. A maintenance man came at 10:30pm to fix it....stated it should be fixed & left. He stated that since he used the provided linens to soak up the water mess he'd have them send us fresh linens, that never happened. The next morning it was about to overflow again. I called 3 times & got 3 different responses as them sending someone to take care of it. After nearly 3 hours (the 3rd call) I told them we had plans & needed to leave the room but we were still waiting on someone to come bc the door had a code to be able to enter the room. They then informed me that the plumber has his own code & we could leave the room....that would have been nice to know on the 1st phone call. We came back around 3:00 & the plumber was working on the water heater. We left for food & came back later at night to the air unit not working, it was hot! They sent someone at 11:00pm, he said it was a clogged hose & fixed it....he wasnt there 5 minutes, the air kicked on & we were ecstatic. After that, the air never didn't again, all night long. We (my 3 kids & myself) were incredibly hot all night, it was terribly stuffy. I called & let them know. They thanked me for letting them know & that was it. Frustrating..understatement.

Terrible experience!
This whole booking/stay was miserable. The app randomly changed the dates of my trip so I spent an hour getting that corrected. Check-in required me to drive 20 minutes each way to get my information packet. Once in the unit, I discovered that there was no handle on the shower. I had to go purchase a pair of pliers in order to shower. Also, the room rate was $45 but there was a “property fee” of $71. The $45 room ended up costing $130. I use hotels.com almost exclusively for lodging and I have never been so disappointed and unhappy!

Stay was so bad I should get my money back. First off I booked a place at the towers. I was never informed that the towers had be condemned and that I was being moved to another building. My stay was for 2 nights and after 1 night we came back to our room to find that the door code had been changed and we were locked out with all our stuff being inside the room. After staying on the phone for a bit we were given another code to get in and was told because I was a late arrival? The only thing I can say good about the place was that the security at the gates were nice people.

There should have been a sticker on your late arrival envelope that notifies late arrival guests, such as yourself, to come to the check in the following day to complete your check-in in person, at that time, the front desk would have made you a new room code. Late arrival guest codes are only made for 1 night and a new code is generated when the guest comes in the following day when they finish their check-in. The room you reserved was a 2 bedroom condo, not specifically for renaissance tower.

My family’s one beach trip RUINED
My family and I notified the hotel via their contact number located in the app and notified them that I would be arriving after 10pm and I would need late check in instructions. They said okay and sent me an address and a code for the lock box to get my key and information about the room. When I arrived at the location, the lock box did not contain my key. I called and spoke to someone with the company or with Hotels.com and was directed to a different address another 20 minutes away. When I arrived there I successfully unlocked the lockbox and found an envelope with my name on it. I opened it and found NOTHING inside. No key, instructions, or anything else except the location of the hotel and room number. Then at around midnight I tried to contact someone again and I couldn’t reach anyone. My family and I had to wait ALL NIGHT and finally went back to the first location and had to check in with the property management company at 9am! So I had to wait around for about 8 hours in the middle of the night with children after a 4 hour drive just to check in to my room and spend a brief amount of time at the beach until my kids and I were so tired from the night before, we all fell asleep early and completely ruined our Saturday. So we really only had one full day to relax until check out on Monday. We stayed around until that evening to make up for lost time but it really ruined the trip for everyone. The actual room was okay and spacious but the microwave was broken.

The resort required us to drive 17 miles away from the resort to pick up the keys and to return them. Also, the rental office was only open till 5, but you couldn’t check in till 4, so limited hours to get the keys. They then requested we drive back the next day to sign paperwork in order to stay in the condo. We were only they 2 nights and didn’t have a car so the the inconvenience of driving back and forth required way to much time. I would not book this property until they open up a rental office on site or closer by for pick up and drop off

Check in was horrible. Had to go off site about 15 minutes to another facility to check in. Room wasn’t ready by 5pm and when we went to our room it wasn’t cleaned. Their was candy wrappers and toilet paper in the floor. The room was very outdated and the fridge didn’t keep things cold. The resort itself was very nice and tons of things to do. Just disappointed in the check in and cleanliness of our room.

Beware Myrtle Beach Vacations Rental
Got to the Renaissance Tower and room was not cleaned from previous rental. Got nothing but recordings when trying to phone myrtle beach vacations. Everyone was done for the weekend. “Pls call back next business day”. Finally got an emergency #. Had to pressure the fella to give me a another rental and got moved to a downgrade 35 min away. A Place At The Beach had no sheets for sofa bed, found smelly blankets in closet that we washed in a dirty wash machine and made do. Wiped up a spill on the floor and the floor was black. We wore shoes the whole time. Sand in bath tub and the master room toilet had previous rental poop smears that we had to clean. Beach was lovely and the location was great. Beware of Myrtle Beach Vacation Rentals. My calls have not been returned and for the pleasure, they haven’t reimbursed me the price difference in the rentals. Do not rent from them!

It was hell to check in, the room was okay, beds extremely uncomfortable, 2 out of 3 tvs we couldn’t get to work, no lock for one of the doors going to the balcony, so much dust on furniture, appliances were really out-dated with some rusted spots, and showers felt like we were going to break thru the floor of the tub while standing in them. I’ve stayed at the Resort many times before, and was looking forward to this weekend trip, and was pretty disappointed with how it started off.

Anytime I vacation in Myrtle Beach, I will always choose Myrtle Beach Resorts (MBR) Really enjoyed the Hot Tub, Sauna and the indoor pool. And I love where (MBR) is located not far from anything literally just a few mins

The property was fine they listing property management was horrible. No communication at all! No notice of a unit number or where or how to get a key. We had to call VRBO after check in time to get connected to Beach Vacations who said we had to drive 30 min from the property to get the key. Then after checkout the manager called me to say that they forgot to collect an additional $120 for a resort fee and taxes!! Horrible experience

Wrong address of the property is listed on hotels.com's website. When asked the representatives at the front desk about the address 5905 Highway 17 S, they stated they didn't know where that came from and they showed me the correct address as 5905 South Kings Highway Myrtle Beach, SC which was what we used throughout our stay. The condo was ok but the queen size bed was so rough my husband and I couldn't sleep on it. Lots of dirty bed covers. My husband saw big spots on the bed covers. Only the bed sheets were cleaned. We asked for extra/clean towels and we were told to launder the ones we had. The fridge/kitchen were nice.

It was terrible. This place is old and smells awful. The unit we stayed in had stained furniture - there was blood on the comforter!!! Floors were nasty! We had to pay a cleaning fee and the place was disgusting!!!! AC barely worked. Pools were nasty. what little staff I saw were all rude and unfriendly. This place is overpriced for what you get! Will never stay here again!!

The building was very old and smelled of mold and mildew but the room was pretty clean. The few staff that we did see was very rude. And the check out instructions did not state that we had to drive 15-20 minutes to the off sight location to turn our keys in. It just said front office which you would think was the office building at the front. Where there was a sign that said check out key drop off but before I could even ask anything the lady at the desk started waving her hand shewing me away telling me to go to the other building off sight.

It was an ok stay. I thought I had paid for housekeeping but no one ever showed up to provide fresh towels or anything. The hotel is a little outdated and the shower head in the master bathroom was spraying water outside the shower. Sliding door in the living had to stay open if someone was on the balcony because there was no handle to get back in if closed.

We liked the quarterdeck bar and grill as the food, service, live music and karaoke were great. We didnt like that when we areived our code to open our front door didn't work and it was Saturday night and it took us over an hour for us to reach someone that could give us an updated code.

Covers were dirty, the mattress on the bunk bed was disgusting. There was a dirt spot on the couch as well. If the beds/bedding were clean and nice I would definitely stay there in the future.

Condo was cute. We arrived late at night, so the office was closed. However, the bedspread was dirty, There was garbage underneath of the coffee table, coffee cup stains on the dresser in the bedroom, hair on the bathroom floor. We had to go to the office the next day to pay the remainder that we owed since we arrived late. I took pictures show the office lady, she wrote it all down. We received a new bedspread, the coffe marks cleaned. We still got charged for cleaning services, plus 100 deposit. It certainly wasn’t Covid cleaned as as stated. Will stay somewhere else on our next trip.

I was never able to get into the property. The itinerary said the front desk was open until 7 pm, that was incorrect. They closed at 5 Pmi died we got there at 5:30. The itinerary said if it’s after hours, go to the security shack to check in (20 minute drive away). We were turned away there, as they didn’t do check ins there. We had to drive 20 minutes back, to the office, and try the lock box. We called the number posted on the door and followed the directions for the lock box, it won’t open (found out that they had the wrong code on the recording) We called multiple times, trying to speak to someone (reservations line was supposed to be manned until 11 pm and it was only 7pm) and never got to talk to someone. Finally, we booked another place and left. I called the following morning and was basically told to talk to Expedia for my refund. Expedia contacted the property manager and I have not heard anything back. It has been 6 days. Maybe the place was amazing, we don’t know. What we do know is there is a lack of customer service or they just don’t care. Either way, we would not recommend this property management group to anyone.

My Birthday trip
The place was a little dated and needed some love! The spare sheets were not clean so we couldn’t use them! At no point did they say the indoor pools would be closed and that’s something we looked forward to! We knew the outdoor pools would be because of the time we made the reservation! It was upsetting to find out later. The view from the balcony was amazing and the check in person was great!

The 2 bedroom unit that we were in was absolutely disgusting! Rugs were sticky from previous guests and clearly not washed or even swept recently. The unit was dated, needs to be remodeled and painted and is cluttered. Rusted patio chairs, no lid on kitchen trash can and my husband even killed a roach in the silverware drawer. Definitely not a 3 star, a 2 star at the most. Check in office is 10 miles away and a great inconvenience. The building is next to the beach and the only saving grace of this place.

The location of the property is great, right near the beach, which was beautiful! Our building (building A) appeared to be older and wi-fi was not good, in fact, it hardly ever worked. Additionally, the cold water spout in one of the bathrooms had to be rigged each time someone took a shower to ensure it worked. The TVs were hard to figure out and it took my 15 year old going through a bunch of technical steps to even get the regular channels to work. We asked for extra pillows on the first night and did find them in our condo the next day but were left without pillow cases. The lamps in the bedrooms didn't work and needed new light bulbs. All of these little things were annoyances that should have been easy to fix. It was hard to reach anyone to help. The main pool by our building was closed the whole time as were all of the hot tubs, presumably because of COVID, but no one seemed to know why when we asked. The basketball court and park were also locked with no explanation. There was a family campground next door that had beach access and my boys were able to play basketball there with no problem. I also was not a fan of having to drive 15 minutes away to drop off the keys on the day we had to leave for the airport. No one on site could take them. However, the main outdoor pool that was open was nice but only open until 6pm. The beach restaurant was great and we loved going to Karaoke each night.

With the pools they opened and closed due to COVID concerns. Also with the keys we are working with many of owners to try and get this so the guest can use codes to get into the condo. Cons: Dead roaches upon arrival, floor had cracks that were buckled, none of the furniture was comfortable in any way, hairbrush from previous person left in bedroom, DVD player didn’t work (wasn’t even hooked up), batteries in remote were dead, handle to hot water in master bathroom sink was broken and didn’t work Pros: location to the beach
