"Great city holiday"
stayed 5 nights at the Hotel in Milan which was excellent value for money with knowledgeable and pleasant staff. They were attentive to all our requirements including maps to various destinations. The hotel is not noisy as reported in some reviews. The only slight issue would be the pool isn't really a swimming pool it is more like a hot tub. Overall great stay in fantastic city.

"Locality of hotel"
We three friends were going to Milan to see the ballet and Opera at La Scala Theater. As we are mature in age, wanted an hotel close the the Theater. On arrival we certainly were not disappointed. The look of the Hotel from outside to inside really surprised us. It has a lovely entrance with an entrance hall with seating leading into a well lit clean and most welcome reception area, where we were dealt with within five minutes by courteous staff understanding English. Our room had three single beds which were beautifully made up. There was a mini bar, slippers for each of us and the bathroom had clean white towels and stocked with soap, shampoos and shower gels, as well as a hair dryer.Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The breakfast buffet offered a vast selection of fresh, canned and dried fruit, cereal, cheeses, cold meats, variety of croissants, cakes breads yoghurts, juices and hot scrambled egg and bacon. Coffee or tea was brought to your table. the linen and towels in the rooms were changed daily, even when we did not require them to be changed. We had our last meal in the Restuarant which was exceptional ( one should not miss having a meal there). All in all this is a very good hotel

"Benissimo!!!"
Nice quaint hotel lots of interesting characteristics. Nice interior garden and great breakfast, lots of choice. Wifi was a plus my only issues was having two single beds joined together to make a double, I almost fell through then one night. Staff were extremely friendly and polite. I would definitely stay there again if in Milan.

"Mennini-you know your not in Kansas"
Well, we went to Europe to feel like we were in Europe and Hotel Mennini fit the bill. I liked the stair case. I enjoyed the balcony overlooking the intesection of 6 streets. The continental breakfast was not Bob Evans but we did enjoy it; brown hard Why did I choose Mennini to begin with. It had balconies! And one could watch the people rolling suitcases 24hrs a day to and from the train station. We enjoyed the cafe in front of the hotel for a beer or wine or hot tea or food. It is one block walk from the Hotel to the Subway and train station. Want to save a little money on food? There is a Supermarket one (maybe 2) blocks south of the hotel. By some cheese, crackers etc. and keep it in the Mini Bar fridge. The room was cleaned daily. We had plenty of fresh towels daily(3 sizes), but did get any wash cloths, must be a Euopean thing. Yes, some reviews say it is not in the best of neighborhoods. Howver, every large city in America has a neighborhod or 2 or 3 that I would not want my grandchildren in in broad daylight. This is not the case with Hotel Meninni. True we were not on the streets at 2 in Morning but there was lots of pedistrian traffic well into the night. I could observe this from my balcony while drinking my coffee from McDonalds (closest thing to American coffee that I could find)

    Pocket Guide: Milan

As Italy's second largest city, and a hub for designers, photographers, and artists, Milan is one of the creative centers of Europe, and for many represents the capital of design and fashion. Milan offers a high-end shopping experience that takes in top Italian designers and world-famous brands. The city has the world's oldest shopping mall, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in the Piazza Duomo, and a wealth of fashion and jewellery shops along Via Montenapoleone, in the Quadrilatero della Moda fashion district.

    Romans to Renaissance

Modern Milan may conjure up images of fashion houses and boutiques, but if the urge to shop until you drop should desert you, it's worth remembering that the city's history, which dates back to 400 BC, is all around you. As capital of the Western Roman Empire, a medieval center of trade, and later under periods of French, Austrian, and Spanish control, Milan's history is long and varied and the city sights are a testament to its importance across the centuries.

A guided Milan city tour will take you through the city's key points of historical interest including Castello Sforzesco, a former palatial residence now open to the public as a museum and art gallery, the imposing gothic cathedral Il Duomo, and La Scala theater. The tour also takes in a viewing of Leonardo da Vinci's 'The Last Supper', viewable only by appointment and housed in the convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie.

While Milan is rich in Renaissance, Gothic, and Baroque works of art (the Brera Art Gallery alone brings together Italian masterpieces from the 14th century to the modern day), this artistic center looks towards the future and contemporary art exhibitions are held in PAC (Padiglione Arte Contemporanea) and CIMAC (Civico Museo Arte Contemporanea).

    Eating and drinking

Milan has a profusion of restaurants offering cuisine from all over the world; brunch is big news in Milan and the nightlife in this eclectic city starts early, with hundreds of bars and clubs to suit every taste. The essential Milanese ritual of happy hour is a famously loosely applied term, and between the hours of 6 PM and 9.30 PM most clubs offer drinks, cocktails, and buffet food at reduced prices. The majority of clubs can be found in the Porta Romana, Porta Ticinese, and Navigli regions of the city, but excellent food and drink are never far away. Getting around Milan is easy too, with a public transport system that includes three subway lines, trains, buses, and an extensive network of trams.

    Explore Lombardy

Beyond the city itself, the glacial Lake Como, the third largest lake in Italy and one of the deepest in Europe, is celebrated for its beauty and tranquillity. Take a day coach tour of the lake and the historical center of Como, explore the scenery, and visit one of the many silk factories.
