"Excellent breakfast "

"We had a suite so had a large bedroom overlooking Copacabana beach, living area window looked towards Christ the Redeemer , views were amazing. Beds and pillows super comfy. Bathroom and furniture could do with some updating but they were adequate and in good state of repair. Nice restaurant and fab breakfast. Staff were very helpful and professional and spoke good English. Great beach bar opposite with good ,reasonable food. Really enjoyed our 4 night stay here."

"If I could give Hotel Miramar 20 stars, I would. The location was perfect, across the Copacabana beach. A road separates most hotels and buildings, so it is as close as possible to the beach. A lifeguard station is right across the hotel with showers and faucets for feet washing. The hotel has a gentleman on the beach who sets your umbrella and a beach chair and keeps an eye on your belongings. On our way from the beach, the gentleman helped us with feet washing, and it was a strange feeling (before we visited Rio, we were in Buenos Aires, where, at the cathedral, we saw a video of the current pope washing feet). The gentleman was not involved as much as the pope; he was directing the water stream on our feet; nevertheless, it was a nice touch. The room was big, with an ocean view. The bed and mattress were extremely comfortable. I have a fancy mattress at home, and I usually find most hotel mattresses of lesser quality. Miramar mattress was better than my home mattress. The same I would say about pillows, bedding and bathrobes. Everything in the room was of outstanding quality and very comfortable. We did not pay for breakfast as we usually skip it, but I peeked once to get a coffee, and the breakfast looked phenomenal. All the staff were extremely courteous, polite, and helpful. I left a tip for the maid on a counter, but she did not take it. All in all, you will be happy staying at Miramar. PS The hotel has a gym, sauna, and an outdoor pool on the roof."

"Great hotel across the street from the beach. Loved the beach chair and umbrella service provided by the hotel. Enjoyed roof top bar and pool. Great breakfast overlooking Copacabana Beach. Front desk staff outstanding."

"This is a top hotel! I don't quite understand the negative reviews left. It's at least a four-star hotel and is excellent with staff, reception, and restaurant services. There are always several receptionists on duty, along with several porters. The breakfast buffet is outstanding and serves many local dishes, along with the more traditional. The hotel has granite floors throughout and a wonderful panoramic view of Copacabana. I did upgrade my room once I got there and was so glad I did. Also appreciated the fact that I could take the stairs to my room which were impeccably kept. Everything was clean and high-end. I would definitely stay here again and felt safe and well-served throughout the 8 days I stayed here."

"It's a cheap option and showed. Bedding and towels were clean, bed was comfortable. Lift erratic and dirty, floor in room dirty, breakfast is ok if you like watered down yogurt and juice. AC barely worked. Next to a Metro station, easy walk to beach. "
