lovely surroundings near the city- 20 min walk. nice clean pool and really beautiful grounds liked the accomodation a lot. not sure what was 'eco' about the place....no indication that I saw that the place was particularly environmentally friendly

It is not "eco" just because trees with names
It was noisy, there was screaming at the pool area until late. My window faced the pool area. The bathroom not to clean. Checking was long. Room was tiny for a bunk bed. The walk from the reception to the rooms was of rocks and bricks, and long - not to good for suitcase with wheels.

I ended up booking that last room available for a retreat that I was participating in and it ended up being their “suite.” Lovely room set in the reception building and it was the only room for guests in that building. Loved the room however you are on the floor where retreats, classes and programs can take place in the day. I was fortunate because I could literally walk out the room into the retreat I was attending. Also, it the rooms are very thin walled. There can be lots of noise. Breakfast was nice but simple. Pool was amazing Great location for the area

A great place to come and chill out by the pool, whilst also being able to walk to areas such as the Night Bazaare. 7 Eleven is also close by. Love the breakfast and the food in the restaurant is so good. I'll be coming back :)

Great Hostel with amazing swimming pool
Great Hostel. If you come thinking of a hotel, you might be disappointed. But if you come thinking of a hostel, then you'll think you're staying in a 5-star HOSTEL. Rooms are clean and comfy, with good Wifi and western-style mattresses. The swimming pool is GREAT! The included breakfast was ok, but again... if you remember you're staying in a hostel, you'll know you're getting a great stay. Bathrooms (shared by all rooms in each floor) are very clean, modern, and well-equipped.

Eco resort is a nice hidden paradise in Chiang Mai. They have an amazing pool where you just wanna chill and take a swim. They also provide nice buffet breakfast and good wifi. Staff was also very helpful and they even gave me a twin room instead of bunk bed dorm which I had booked. I don't really have anything bad to say about this place. Location could be better since there are not so many shops or restaurants nearby but if you wanna chill in quiet environment for a while this is a place to go and it's also really affordable!

Amazing Facility
This was the best possible place I stayed in, in the entire month of my travels. It is brand new with USB ports right in each room. The pool is large and well maintained. The rooms are clean and the staff are extremely helpful and very fluent in English. The whole experience from walking from reception to your room is healing with beautiful gardens and water features. Buffet Breakfast was included everyday and it was awesome. The hotel is a mere 15 min walk to everything you could possibly need. Rent a bike to get you around in a jiff.

Worn down hotel with a fantastic pool.
A somewhat worn down hotel for backpackers. But it is the one hotel with a 25 meters swimming pool. People from aother hotels arrived to swim here. 5 lanes. But the pool was poorly maintained with a sandfilter that hardly worked. The water was murky.

Relaxing
After a long time travelling this is what we were looking for, not too far from the centre of Chiang Mai and all the markets, but had a nice relaxing pool area. We also booked a couple of trips from the tourist office. They were really helpful and did it effortlessly. We really enjoyed our half day trip to see elephants, were they are treated well, and the Thai cooking course. We got pickup and dropped off. Really enjoyed my stay.

Great Place to Stay
Eco Resort is an amazing place to stay. The room was big and very clean. There´s a great pool. The customer service was very good. The staff gave me very nice tips on where to go or do in town. The downside is that is a little bit far from downtown (20 minutes walking) but one can take a taxi, tuk tuk, etc.

Roof leak, nice pool
Huge leak in the roof in the room and the floor was flooded. Told maintenance and it took several hours for housekeeping to come clean it up and the roof continued to leak throughout the day. We did get relocated to different rooms. The 2nd room is in the dorm and the bathroom and shower are outside outdoors, so it was hot and muggy. Pool is very big nice and clean. Location is very inconvenient 20min walk to the river and 30min to town.

Solid location but far distance by walking from city core. Much more convenient with a motorbike however note, the rental company tied to the hotel requires passport deposit, no workaround which is a pain. Can be difficult finding a red truck willing to take you back to hotel.

Slightly Eco, Extremely Good
We stayed at Eco for 3 nights in mid November after reading positive reviews on trip advisor. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the rooms and the facilities on offer. The pool is of a professional standard which seemed to attract some very accomplished swimmers but equally offered somewhere to cool off. The restaurant by the gate and one across the road offer fine Thai cuisine at a reasonable price. We stayed in a twin room close to the pool and loved it

Great swimming pool
The hotel was in a beautiful setting with really well kept gardens and pool area. Breakfast was OK with a selection of food and drink. The cleaning staff kept the rooms and shower areas very clean. The only criticism I would have is of the reception staff who could do with some training in customer service! They were not overly helpful and didn't make us feel that welcome.

Great swimming pool. Quite noisy from all the opening and closing of room doors, reminding guests of their times of living in university dorms. If you like this or do not mind it, this is otherwise a great place.

Great Grounds and Pool, Lousy Rooms
This place is difficult to rate because the grounds are so very beautiful and the pool is the best I've found in Chiang Mai, but the rooms are lousy. They are tiny, starkly undecorated, and the walls are too thin. Also, for some reason every time I have stayed here (repeat visits are because of the pool) there has been an unusually high number of inconsiderate guests. This is not the fault of the hotel, but for some reason they seem to attract a clientele who fails to remember that people like to sleep.

The hotel is quite far from the center. It took us 15 minutes walking to cross the bridge toward the local market (20mins). then, to the supermarket, it took us (30mins) and to the center of the city itself around 40mins walking. however, the hotel has a huge space! A big green area and some fruit trees. The decoration is very nice (with elefants and plants, wooden mobile) and the breakfast is really great (included and you eat as much as you want), with asian food, fruits, milk, coffee, eggs, juice, pancakes... everything really good tasting. To use the running machines we had to pay ($1 from what I remember), so we swam, since it was included in the price. Rooms are simple, but air con works pretty well. Didn`t had hot shower on men`s toilet, but on women`s had (maybe it was just a problem during those days). Good place. Peaceful.

Eco resort was hit and miss. The hotel itself, rooms, property, pool, and shared facilities were all incredible. You literally feel as though you're in a tropical paradise. The pool is sprawling and it's easy to pass hours sitting poolside. However, the staff were not friendly and rarely smiled. Granted it was Songkran wknd and they were bush, but I had been staying there the week prior to Songkran in addition to the wknd and did not feel welcome. The other complaint is in regards to the dorm rooms- only one electrical outlet which can be issue when you're sharing with 3 other ppl. The restaurant has decent food but is over priced. Definitely recommend the places across the street. The hotel is also a fairs way from the center of town and often taxis and tusk confused it with Eco guest house which is in the main square. A taxi will cost 20-60฿ into the square, and walking takes about 20-30 mins depending on your route. Overall a great place to stay but for a younger crowd I would recommend staying in town where you're closer to all the action.

Good but stayed in better
The hotel looks great in the photos, and the setting does not disappoint. The pool area in nice and the grounds are well kept and pleasant. Although we had a 10 night stay here and it was enjoyable there are a few things that let it down: 1) The rooms are very noisy as the walls are incredibly thin and so you can hear everything from the adjoining room, 2) We had two rooms and they both suffered from a nasty smell in the bathroom overnight, 3) Although the pool area was pleasant there was not enough sun beds for the size of the hotel so it ended up being a fight for them, if went to the toilet you would find when you got back your sun bed was missing, 4) Breakfast that was provided was not excellent, 5) Although not much of a problem it is a way from Down town (only 100Bht) tuk tuk this suited us fine however others may not like this. 6) At £30Gbp a room it was not the cheapest of places - we stayed in the park plaza at Bangkok for only a few more pounds and got a suite with bathroom. Saying all of this it was a pleasant stay and nice to be away from the hustle of Chiang Mai

Nice at a good price
I stayed in a small room with the shared bathroom, which worked out perfectly well for my needs. The breakfast was great! It's about a 10 minute walk from the old city, but tuk tuks are readily available, and most tours will pick up right from the hostel. The only problem was that there was a wedding one of the evenings. The wedding itself was quite loud, and the pool was unavailable for the prior day for the setup.

Beautiful, but far away
The rooms were cheap and the resort was gorgeous, but it added up to take a taxi into town every day. They also overcharge for extras- like bottled water and use of swimming pool. Lovely place, though.

Nice resort, but quite far from the centre
I had to do an exam in Chiang Mai and therefore booked the resort accommodation in order to prepare. It is about 30 min walk away from the centre, but sangteows or tuk tuks can be found nearby. I was only disappointed that it clearly said single room (1 person occupancy) on my confirmation, but the Receptionist tried to give me a shared dorm room. Explaining it would be there policy!
