Lovely old hotel with tons of charm. Very comfortable spacious rooms with comfy beds and large marble baths. Outstanding staff. Ideal location near shopping eateries and ten minute walk to the Guggenheim. Very pleased.

The facilities were top-notch. However, the restaurant was bad! The waitress didn't understand a word of English and that's okay but she never asked anyone for assistance. Every (5) order was wrong!

Great Hotel Perfect Location
This is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. The room was big and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was fantastic! I could have stayed there all day (at the buffet).

What a fabulous stay at a grand old hotel. We loved everything about this place. The staff was friendly and accommodating, Luis & the front desk staff went out of the their way to be informative, the bartenders were wonderful, and the waitress at the hotel restaurant was great. We enjoyed our meal at the hot restaurant, jet lagged though we were. The sauces & the bread were delicious. We were impressed by the beautiful Spanish style public rooms and by the clean & quiet of our hotel room. Even though this hotel is in the center of Bilbao, it was so quiet at night. And the rooms are nice & dark with blackout curtains that cover the windows properly. There is an interior door between the bedroom & the bathroom & entryway that also cuts down on hallway noise & light. The bathroom was nicely rennovated & spotless. The location is amazing. It is central to everything. Try the classic room style for more of the grand hotel feel. Everything about our stay was wonderful.

Great location, and beautiful hotel grounds. What spooked us a bit was parking. It was not clear at all where the hotel parking was, and given the central location in a busy downtown area, it was a bit hairy. I ended up parking in front of the parking exit, while my wife checked in. They then sent someone to open the door for me, and led me to the underground garage. Otherwise, we had a fine stay

They did a great job all the way around. Staff, breakfast buffet, cleanliness, etc. I would definitely recommend this property and would stay here again. A parking garage was not too far if you were driving.
