Bangkok restaurants are more expensive than they used to be so unless you're ok with eating from the street stalls then having a kitchen is definitely worth it (even if it is only for cereal or porridge for breakfast). Having said that, eating from the food stalls is ok as long as you see it cooked in front of you. Avoid food that's been sat there for an unknown length of time. If it's busy it's probably ok (if it's good enough for thai people, it should be good enough for everyone). Cleaners can come round every day if you ask them to. All in all very good value especially if you plan to stay more than a few days. Otherwise you could pay around half the price for a very basic room in the same area.
