“The Sofitel”

The hotel was outstanding in every respect. Probably one of the finest hotels I have ever stayed in.

“Beautiful hotel, excellent ambiance.”

The rooms are very well appointed and are very clean. The fitness facilities were adequate and the free internet access from the business center was useful for online check in for the homeward journey. The staff are very helpful and very courteous. The only complaint was that I had requested adjoining rooms at the time of booking (the children could have one and we would have the other). On checking in they said this was OK but we found the two rooms were separated by another room in the middle. They had several months to plan in this simple request. They did say I should have used the phrase inter connected. I would definitely use this hotel again - and would use the appropriate phrase to ensure my needs were understood.

“Very helpful staff and wonderful hotel”

This hotel is in an excellent location for Dam Square and its amenities. Although very expensive to stay, the beds were exceptionally comfortable and the best nights sleep we have had in a hotel so far! The staff are very nice and can't seem to do enough to help.

“A fantastic hotel in Amsterdam - within walking distance of almost everything”

We have not been to Amstedam before, but have stayed in many hotels in Europe and this hotel is up there with the best of them. We stayed in a Superior room and the quality was excellent, but I recommend booking through Expedia and not direct with the hotel as one got a much better deal - so much so that the flight was effectively free, with some change left over. Anyone thinking a buffet breakast is boring needs to eat here just once - the complimentary champagne was lovely. The Reception/Concierge services were excellent and the quality of housekeeping in the rooms was exemplary. The spa/pool/sauna was just like a high quality gym and not a hotel's excuse for a facility - well done. I will be returning soon and have no doubt that we will be staying here again.

“One of Amsterdam's best”

A great hotel, with a great restaurant in a great location for all the key sights. Only weakness is its breakfast - which is either very expensive (in their main restaurant) or is reasonably priced but the seating in their lounge area is not the most comfortable way of having breakfast. The hotel also supplied us with a brilliant street map which had tram and bus details overlaid on top of the map - which we found incredibly useful (certainly better than our tourist guide book). AND not a hotel issue but take care with taxis from the railway station (Amsterdam Centraal) to the hotel - they can be very expensive! By contrast taxis from the hotel to Amsterdam Centraal are quite reasonable.

“A Grand Hotel”

The hotel is such a lovely little hideaway right in the heart of Amsterdam. It's courtyard is a lovely secluded area away from the hustle of the outside world so you can have the best of the City and still find some peace and quite to relax. It has a fantastic position allowing easy access all the best parts of this wonderful city. The staff were of the quality you would expect at such a hotel and they did make our stay a perfectly comfortable one. I would without hesitation recommend it and return to stay.

“Great Hotel”

This is now the second time I have stayed there staff are great hotel is great, but hey 5 start what do you expect. Location is great.

Wonderful stay. 5 star service all around. Couldn't fault any aspect. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was absolutely superb. For anyone looking for a touch of luxury during their stay then I would recommend this hotel.
