"Nice hotel within walking distance of town."
Had problems with a leak in the room, staff responded rapidly and gave us an upgrade to a new room. Reception staff very helpful and efficient. Didn't like queuing for breakfast especially as there were plenty of free tables. Nobody there to greet you on either morning so had to wait for someone to come. Did not seem enough staff to cope with the amount of guests.

"Lovely Old Hotel"
My wife & I recently stayed at The Old Swan, just for 1 night for a family wedding. The Hotel dates from the 1700's & is a grand old hotel. It is bigger than I expected & is set in lovely grounds - ideal for wedding photo's. The staff were friendly, courteous & efficient. Check - in is not normally until 2.00 pm, but we managed to get in earlier, which was good. We had drinks & bar snacks, which were nice, but we didn't have evening meal because we were at the wedding. Our room was large with a big bed and an excellent en-suite, all very clean & tidy with t.v., tea & coffee facilities & a trouser press. We had full English breakfast the next morning that was excellent. Agatha Christie was found at this hotel when she went "missing"

"Hotel located in a lovely village"
When we arrived the village was buzzing as there was a 1940s event going on. The accommodation was described as having free parking which we thought would be attached to the accommodation. However the free parking turned out to be a free village car park. The accommodation was the upstairs of a busy pub. We had to wait to get attention and shown to our room. The room was very nice but the view from the window was an untidy yard containing the rubbish bins. The free wi fi which was advertised was not available yet! The breakfast was excellent and used high quality produce and was well prepared.

"A lovely guest house in a great location."
I have just returned from a two night stay with my daughter staying at the Alamah. Upon our arrival we were very warmly welcomed by Judy who provided us with a local parking permit and showed us to our room. We had booked a twin room but were upgraded to room 7 which is a family room. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The refreshments tray was generously stocked with quality products and the equally spotless en suite provided lovely toiletries. The room was warm and quiet. The next morning we were welcomed to breakfast by Sue. There was a wide selection of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt and juice followed by a delicious cooked breakfast with perfectly cookdd fried eggs courtesy of Judy. I have no hesitation in highly recommending The Alamah, Judy and Sue are friendly and nothing is too much trouble but they are not overbearing. The accommodation is comfortable and well appointed with good quality, tasty food. The town centre is a short walk away. A real home from home. Thank you.

"Walking distance to town centre"
Stayed for two nights on way home from visiting daughter. Although we were on top floor and room was quite small the beds were spotless and comfortable, the en-suite although small was clean and adequate. Breakfast was first class with great choice and served by a very pleasant lady. Our Hosts Judy and Richard met us on arrival and were very welcoming and helpful. The guesthouse was very central and we found no problems using it as a base to explore Harrogate. It was also very convenient to Bus Station for bus to Leeds/Bradford Airport. Would definitely stay again and would recommend it.
